  • Hey Michel, thank you for articulating your wonderfully pragmatic reasoning for not scraping your top slide. This is the kind of thinking we should all aspire to.
  • Thanks for showing your two axis vice swivel adapter. A very useful device. I like your new tool holders Michel. The tilting mill table is so handy. Cheers Nobby
  • Thank you for continuing to educate the uninformed. Your inventiveness and ingenuity continue to inspire. Excellent result and proof that there is no need to spend a fortune on fancy overpriced tool holders. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ˜€

Good times, thank you. A shaper is the one machine I'd love to own someday. Not because I need one, I just want to play with one...
  • I sure do enjoy your videos! Your commentary, videography, subject matter and skills are amazing!
  • @StuartsShed
A delightful commentary on practical matters! I thought the shim was an ingenious solution to the problem. These tool holders are very nice indeed. Scrap metal turned into tools is always a win.
  • As always good common sense approach to a daily problem. Well done and inspirational. Your ability to teach simply is wonderful.
  • "Damn, I have to do some thinking...... THAT wasn't in the plan." . I think I need a T shirt with that! :D Like the others I compliment you on your realistic approach to so many of these tasks.
  • Love your discussion. . fantastic. . and I can't help but laugh at you 'touching' the lathe. . brilliant. . Have a great day.
  • really enjoy watching your methods, especially like how you show getting it done without ridiculous amounts of expensive tooling! top job!
  • @hersch_tool
Really great way to deal with the issue of setting the tool height on a 4 way tool post, bravo! Also, I am SO jealous of your deckel mill lol. Those things are so flippin nice, and so versatile. It makes easy work of that compound angle.
  • @MrFactotum
great job Michel as usual first classπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ atb Kev
  • G'day Rusti. That's a nice "beefy" tool holder you made there. Good work mate. Cheers, Aaron.

Another very interesting video Michel πŸ‘l really enjoyed watching every minute great explanation and analysis from start to finish.
  • @Peter_Nottle
function over form every day, fancy stuff is for selling, working stuff just needs to work πŸ‘
  • @HM-Projects
That came out nice. The one thing I would add is a clamp to hold the insert down at the back. Since its a negative rake, there might be more pressure from turning that will try to lift the back of the insert.
  • Hi Michelle, your wibbly wobbly clamp is such a great idea!! You reminded me of having to scrape a dovetail as part of an apprentice job. I still have those scrapers .... just as well .... I might have to put something useful at the bottom of my toolbox!! Mind you they do get used. Great finish from the shaper on those holders. And the test cuts looked really good as well!! Have a great weekend!!
