  • I remember slenderman before the stupid game made him popular. He was scary as fuck. I remember being afraid to sleep at night. And living right next to the woods didn't help either lol.

"He is the thing that we fear that we don't actually encounter." I love that line.

I remember in 2012 when my father was in the hospital, the rest of my family including me went to see my father and we brought the family laptop. My older brother showed me a site called the slender man including the game, pictures, and story's. We were all laughing and in my head I just kept telling my self that this will be the most hilarious monster I will ever hear about because his head was an egg. TBH I miss those times when I was younger. I even got friends off of fantasizing and making story's of him with my colleges which made me come out of my shell. But as the years go on you have to grow up. THIS STORY IS FAKE!! I was scared just like many kids here in the comment section but after a while of spending time in the woods by myself in fear I grew out of him and made peace with my surroundings and Mother Nature. Don't let your imagination get the best of you.

I feel like slenderman's appearance is a mixture of common phycological fears. his empty face - the unknown his 'appendages' that seem to retract from his back. - the common fear of spiders. his suit and tie (probably his height as well)- threatening authority. in conclusion, he is basically just all in people's heads, it was just a photoshopped picture that went viral and people's imaginations got the best of them. plus, most people who think he is real are usually 14 and under, with means they have a young and malleable mind being it's still in development. slendermans existence is entirely subconscious.
