These days the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Kingdom of Bahrain want to establish diplomatic relations with Israel, as the third and fourth Arab countries, after Egypt and Jordan. In return for the agreement, Israel wants to suspend the planned annexation of areas in the occupied West Bank, which the Palestinians claim for their own state.
"Personally, I don't see a problem in our living here", says Chaya Tal, "but rather how we live here." She believes that isolation is not the way out of the decades of confrontation in the region, but that it is by talking to each other. The Palestinian Abu Awwad also sees it this way - despite or perhaps because his brother was shot dead at an Israeli checkpoint. Together with Rabbi Hanan Schlesinger they have come up with an idea to ease the situation on the ground. A report by Theresa Breuer and Vanessa Schlesier.

Forcibly building your Home on someone's territory and then crying for peace... strange
-
Free palestine. Zero sympathy for colonizers.
-
"And then he threw a rock at me for killing his uncle and burning down his house. Why are they so violent??
-
As I'm learning more about "settlers", I'm starting to think that they need a new name. How about "thugs"? Or, "thieves"?
-
‘Personally I don’t see any problem in me occupying other people’s land, I find it problematic that they’re not peacefully letting me get away with it’
-
The settlers (squatters) talk about the Palestinians as if they're aliens. "Making contact," "reminder we're not alone," etc. Like WTF!
-
Imagine breaking into someones house, sitting on their couch, eating their food and watching their television and, when the rightful owners complain and attempt to drive you out, you complain about how rude they are being. How disconnected from reality are these "settlers"?
-
Last month, the family whose car I stole demanded that I return it to them. How deplorable of them. They had the audacity to ask for a car that my dad said should be mine.
-
It's hard being a coloniser😞😞

Would this lady speak about getting along if I moved into her house and refused to leave?

"If I don't steal your house, someone else will" -Yakob, 2021
-
Please stop calling them settlers! They are colonizers.
-
The fact that a rabbi says that belong to them because they were there 2000 years ago makes no sense to me
-
Why are they being painted as the "victims"?
-
"For many people here, this is their first contact with an Arab". Sounds very much like Apartheid.
-
You move from Germany to someone else's land and then say you want peace
-
So if that’s the case, let’s all go to other countries and take their lands and homes. It’s absolutely justifiable according to these people.
-
How do settlers live with themselves? How can they justify stealing other people home and lands?
-
It's really hard to show any empathy for the settlers. Most of them come from advanced western countries with tons of social benefits and every tool available to have a good life (except for the US which has no free healthcare, college etc.).

"Israelis," one of them is a German, the other an American from New York...
