I'm a metalhead, but this is one of the greatest songs to ever be created.

I don't care where you come from. Lets just agree this song is great.
  • I was at a heavy metal concert and during one of the intermissions, this song came on over the loudspeakers. Being in the middle of thousands of black-clad metalheads all of us singing along to this song together was one of the most wholesome moments I ever experienced.

  • American folk singer John Denver was an artist in the most genuine sense of the word - he used his craft to change the world. A songwriter, performer, actor, environmentalist and humanitarian, Denver was not only one of the most beloved entertainers of the 1970s but a leading advocate of global causes until his tragic death in 1997. Songs such as "Take Me Home, Country Roads" and "Sunshine on My Shoulders" garnered him critical acclaim while simultaneously catapulting his gentle message towards the earth, peace, and compassion to the masses.
  • People in 2024 still listen to This masterpiece RIP John Denver😢❤

two years ago, i was in a car accident that nearly killed my family and i. before we lost control of the car, we were all singing along to this song. after that experience i was diagnosed with ptsd, and this song became my biggest trigger. i’m here now, listening on mute to try and expose myself to it to heal. i’d love to be able to enjoy this song again, somehow :( edit: thank you all so much for the kind words :) they mean so much and i’m so grateful for all of your support! i’m healing, and i’m learning this song on guitar! again, thank you all for your support and please stay safe <3

Almost heaven, West Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River Life is old there, older than the trees Younger than the mountains, blowing like a breeze Country roads, take me home To the place I belong West Virginia, mountain mama Take me home, country roads All my memories gather round her Miner's lady, stranger to blue water Dark and dusty, painted on the sky Misty taste of moonshine, teardrop in my eye Country roads, take me home To the place I belong West Virginia, mountain mama Take me home, country roads I hear her voice, in the morning hour she calls me The radio reminds me of my home far away And driving down the road I get a feeling That I should have been home yesterday, yesterday Country roads, take me home To the place I belong West Virginia, mountain mama Take me home, country roads Country roads, take me home To the place I belong West Virginia, mountain mama Take me home, country roads Take me home, down country roads Take me home, down country roads 작사: Bill Danoff / John Denver / Taffy Nivert Danoff
  • I'm proud to admit that I knew this song before the Fallout 76 trailer.
  • @augustrob1
This song was my grandmother's favorite. I was only a small child when this was on the radio. She and I would sing it together often. It's one of the best memories of my life.

  • It’s a shame musicians like John pass away before they can see how loved their songs are by the world
  • @LilLoo226
I lived for nearly 40 years in Northern Virginia, just a stone's throw from the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Shenandoah River. Spent lots of time there. This song always takes me back to those beautiful memories. It takes me home.

I went to Bosnia in 2001 to play a series of shows on NATO bases. Our first night there at the Camp ,we went to the on-base pub, when this song came on the jukebox,EVERYONE,man and woman, from every country stationed there, sang along at the top of their voices. I wa s struck by how, no matter where they were from, all anyone wanted was TO GO HOME. This is something I will NEVER forget.
