Can you do one on how to be a better wife? At the end of the day after mommin', I struggle with the desire to wife lol

One of my fondest memories of my mother is her reading to me. I am now 70 years old (I don’t feel that old on most days 🤣) but when I read to my daughters and then my grandkids, I would recall sitting in Mom’s lap as she read to me ♥️.
  • I paused the video on #2 and went to color with my kids. Got dad involved too and we spent 45 mins coloring. 🙌🏼 Thank you.
  • @mama-cita
I'm a Mom of 4 with one on the way. Oldest is 10. I have "accidently" done all of your tips over the years. They all work. Very good advice.
  • @Kirsty-tz2cx
I've only been a mum for 2.5 years and currently pregnant with my second but my tips would be: 1. Say sorry to your child when you mess up. 2. When saying no explain why you're saying no so they understand. 3. Try to say yes when you can instead of no just because it might be inconvenient. For example, my toddler loves to get her own cereal/food/do dishwasher and washing and is very independent but of course she takes a lot longer and makes a mess. So what, she's learning and we clean it up together. Just because it's inconvenient for me, it's such great learning for her because one day she won't spill when putting cereal and milk in the bowl. 5. Don't get annoyed about spills and accidents. Nothing worse than spilling something and scared to tell your parent when it was an accident. It happens to us all. Don't make anyone feel bad over an accident that they never intended.
  • Me a 19 year old college student who doesn’t plan on having kids till 6+ years watching this :) I enjoy all your videos and love how genuine you and your family are such a beautiful family!
  • @mamataylor1624
“Mama made us some muffins! …..but she made ‘em from a bag though sooo” has me cackling. Needed this. Thank you. Absolutely love your vids and personality! 💗
  • @rcamum
Thank you! I needed this today. The past few months have been rough. My new mantra is “it’s better to be kind than right”.
  • Such good simple ideas. As a teacher, we have duties and cleaning procedures that i get caught up in. When a kid asked me to come look at something they did I would say not right now I'm cleaning. But now I'm like I can stop and look at something for 5 seconds right and it's something they're proud of usually.
  • Love this video! I appreciate the practical in the moment tips. Stuff that is realistic. Also want to add a favorite thing of mine— taking a drive. When I am really at my wits end I practically throw my toddlers in the car and go for a drive. Sometimes its long and sometimes its short, but getting out of the house (even with no where to go) has been a great way for me to reset mentally.

My oldest is off at university and I keep getting text messages from her, "xxx made me think of you/home", and several have been scent based. She was at breakfast at a friend's apartment who served Red Rose tea and she sent a picture of her cup with the message, tastes like home. The other memory trigger is songs, ones that we sang or listened to on the Google speakers (we have a cleaning playlist to keep our energy up). We will send each other links to videos of the songs as we hear that make us think of the others. My son is in the Army and does this all the time. I love the idea of focusing on activities that we like, and doing those with our kids. I keep buying games so the kids will play with each other and stay busy. I should pull out the puzzles, I love doing them.
  • I need to rewatch this... and rewatch again next week lol great video! Glad to know I'm not the only one that wants to run away and go to the store for an hour just for peace 😂
  • Bake something - yes! Sometimes I just use a box mix and my kids help and. Yes, it is messy, but great memories and a good life skill.
  • This could not be more timely for me. I constantly feel like a bad mother and feel like giving up. My relationship with my 10 year old is so difficult and there are days I feel I can’t cope. We were homeschooling and I had to send him back to school 2 years ago because of my mental health. I feel like God is leading us to it again and I’m trying to follow his voice rather than my fears. Thank you for making this video xx
  • I started laughing out loud when you were talking about opening the windows and listening to the birds, and I was thinking, "Ugh, birds are so loud and annoying" ...and then I laughed even harder when you were describing the Manhattan high rise noises because that's where I live and so often when I'm on the phone with friends from other parts of the country (where birds do tweet outside of their windows), they will ask me, "Where are you? Are you out running errands?" And I'll say, "No, why? I'm at home." Because, as they will inform me, they can hear the traffic, honking horns and sirens through my phone despite the fact that I'm several stories above the ground with all my windows closed, lol and I usually say, "oh sorry I didn't realize there was that much noise." One woman's sirens is another woman's birds. 😂🤣🐦

I love fresh flowers! When I was broke with four kids we always went on walks and picked pretty things. Wild flowers sage brunch wheat grass and we would put it into a vase. Now my kids will often do it on their own sometimes with the intent to just brighten my day. ❤️
  • @typeAmomfriend
The other thing with flowers too is you can buy a plant that blooms and helps clean the air inside like a Peace Lilly! They are so wonderful and easy to take care of! :)
  • @Starsofneon
I agree with all of these. Mom of 4 here for 12 years. I base my day off my senses as well. When I write my todo list I always put at the top how I want to feel , what I want to see, hear, etc. And usually reward myself with something tasty at the end of the day lol
  • I started not to watch this because I was thinking how she is going to tell me how to be a better Mom. But it was so the opposite of what I was thinking. So, thank you! Thank you for the tips of getting a better attitude and how to make a day better.
  • @randoline13
Not gonna lie ... I was over here like who's she to tell us how to be better moms, on the Monday after Mother's Day no less!?!?! (And, I've loved and followed your videos for years.) But, alas, I was wrong. What great, practical tips to change the mood, which changes the tone, which makes us all better moms. Way back, idk last fall maybe, you mentioned the word "atmosphere" on one of your videos pretty sure in reference to a candle you liked and it's the first time I'd ever thought of that word in reference to my home. I've been wanting more of this atmosphere talk and you delivered that today.
