HOW To Eat If You Have IBS or SIBO

Published 2024-02-08
Mindful eating and intuitive eating are cool and all, but is this really powerful enough to treat something like SIBO? Is the idea of "chewing more" just nonsense, or is there actually some legitimate science behind this recommendation? I think you can guess my stance on the matter, but you'd better watch this video to get the full scoop (and science!) ;)

  • I appreciate this video. As someone who works in marketing, I totally hear you on that paradox: the unsexy, algorithmically-challenged videos are often exactly what people need to see and hear. Hoping this algo comment helps get this video in front of folks who need this flotation suit in the deluge of conflicting SIBO info (and predatory marketing practices) on the web! Side: I've been dealing with IMO for a decade. I've given up on a "cure" and focused on these practices along with meditation and therapy. I'm not ever gonna feel 100%, but I at least have regained some semblance of control and normalcy in my life. Godspeed

Please know, I thank you for making this video despite it not "performing well". Because it is EXACTLY what myself and family needs. And I appreciate it greatly. ❤

I"ve been hearing the food-chewing advice for probably decades now but so far it has barely stopped me from just unhinging my jaw and inhaling. Time for another try at a new habit.

I think the "sexiest" thing I've heard you say is to not starve yourself on an elimination diet! This is the biggest turn on for me! I love your commonsense approach and your delightful personality. You are the best, IMO. You will most likely see me in the FODMAP Freedom group. I have horrible allergies and have been struggling with sinus problems for years. The doc. says I also have silent GERD. I am refusing the PPIs so I need realistic and practical advice. ❤ thanks so much for all your wonderful podcasts and YouTube presentations.

Great video, sooo helpful, thanks. Do you have any tips on how to remember to eat more mindfully consistently?

What can you take for high Methane Sibo that will not cause bad acid reflux? Garlic and Oregano would be a no for me.

Hello from N.C. 🇺🇸 I finally got off omeprazole after 30 years and I'm trying to heal my gut with low carb/no sugar /no grains. Im taking L-glutamine to heal my gut. Should I take probiotics now or only after my gut is healthy? I still have some bloating and occasional gas going on. I love your channel and thank you! ❤
  • Thank you again for a great reminder to slow down and have regular meal times!

Yay!! Good to see you. Does endometriosis cause small, intestinal, bacterial overgrowth and do you have to get rid of it in order to get rid of the small, intestinal bacterial overgrowth? Or does small intestinal bacterial overgrowth cause endometriosis?

  • LOL, I really dislike so much this woman, (at the beginning of my journey) now after a year and half, I went back to listen to her and she is so freaking right on so many aspects. Very down to earth, very intuitive.

Since I can remember my dad always chided me for eating too fast. Also being severely anemic I wonder how that correlates to lack of blood flow/volume to the gut.
