She was such a classy lady and one of my first crushes when I was 15 and saw her live in Ottawa in 1975 and again in 2017 in Vancouver. Her lovely music will live on for future generations to enjoy.My favorite song of hers was Magic which describes her career as well.

Her legacy will forever be cemented in the "Musical" genre of films. When we think of great musicals, we think of films such as The Sound of Music, West Side Story, My Fair Lady, Cabaret, Fiddler on the Roof and the Wizard of Oz, all considered classics for their era but when Grease hit the screen in 1978 - everything changed. That film spoke directly to high school teenagers around the world who were dealing with first loves, the peer pressures at school, the thoughts of who they are and where in life they wanted to go. Guys wanted to be Travolta, and Girls wanted to be Olivia. She will always be a legend and no matter how many musicals they do from here on out, every single director and actor will reference parts of that film for inspiration. RIP Olivia, you did great.

What a talented beautiful soul, such a sad loss. As a radio dj at an Easy-Listening station in the early '90s, I loved playing the two Olivia Newton-John songs in the playlist- the gorgeous gem "Magic" and "Have You Never Been Mellow". Rest in Peace, Olivia.
