My Drone Cinematography MasterClass is FINISHED!

Hello my flying filmmaker friends! This has been my most requested beginner drone tutorial for the DJI Mini 3 Pro with questions about d-CineLike, 10-bit, new firmware settings, nd filters with auto exposure and a bunch of other details.
People frequently ask how I get beautiful quality images from an entry level drone.
So this channel is a big steaming pile of my drone tutorials sharing my settings & workflow.

Many thanks to @philipbloom I’ve learned so much from him over the years.
And many thanks to all the members who support this channel. I’m truly looking forward to returning to volunteering in 3rd world countries again next year.

Many thanks Ted! Again, you seem to be the only one in Youtube, who is not praising a)180°-rule b)use of ND-filters c)filming in manual mode! You are my hero! 😎
  • @fschilder6419
Your video is about the Mini 3 not the Mini 3 Pro so you should leave out material that only applies to the Pro. The Mini 3 does not have 10-bit nor does it record D-Cinelike so that was a considerable amount of "air time" that didn't need to be in this video. It will likely confuse the dickens out of the more basic Mini 3 user. Your other material was great.
  • Hi Ted. I recently received my Mini 3 Pro and have been watching a bunch of videos to help me get going. I watched two of yours so far and REALLY appreciate your straightforward and easy to understand approach to your tutorials. I tried watching another guys video on filters and he went right into shutter speed without first identifying the correlation between the two and seemed to be just trying to impress rather than actually teach. Other videos are too long and drawn out but yours seem to be just the right length to get the information across without the unnecessary filler. Really liking your videos and can't wait to watch more. I feel like I'm actually FINALLY learning valuable stuff so THANKS!
  • @jamesruse5895
Amazing! I have been an ND filter user and shutter speed EXACTLY at double frame rate! I am going to immediately switch to your method and see how it goes....love to simplify! Thanks, Ted!
  • @jakedfountain1
Ted, thanks so much for opening my eyes to being ok with using auto exposure. I’ve been doing photography and film for 10 years professionally and sometimes full manual mode with my drone slows me down. I love the idea of one filter for day and no filters in softer light. Love your channel!

Well Ted, I stumbled upon your channel the other day and have subscribed. Your videos are a breath of fresh air... not trying to sell me anything, just straight up trying to help me be a better drone videographer. Too many other channels talk about the need to upgrade but you're all about the joy of learning and sharing. You're the first channel I've ever considered joining to support your efforts. Thanks Ted
  • @MadMajor86
Thank you so much, Ted. I just discovered your videos and I love your pragmatic and realistic approach... especially since you are validating my use of auto 😁
  • @AZGeek520
Awesome stuff, Ted. I am slowly moving away from my old habits of not using auto settings and your results keep reminding me that the Mini 3 Pro is different from the Mavic Pro and Phantom 4 Pro that I started flying with years ago. Got the message: no filter at golden hours, auto settings. I'll have to try 120fps because of the 1080p resolution when I normally shoot in 4K. I also need to give 24fps a try. Thanks!

I am no expert by a long shot and this is the reason I am watching videos like this one. I enjoyed very much by the way, the information you delivered and the way that you deliver it. One thing that gave me pause....your recommendation that the ND64 was the best all around filter for clear weather daytime cinematography. Everybody else has said the ND16 is the way to go generally speaking.
  • Nice!!! You’re awesome for sharing these settings. Looking forward to have more fun with my Mini 3!!!
  • @PeteBreen
Huge help Ted. Thanks for all the settings and research. I’m going back to Normal - now I know why my drone footage is so flat.
  • @johnpicone3050
Never getting tired of seeing your drone video shots, masterfully executed!
  • Great video with some good point - I shoot most of the time in auto as well, and use the same filter during bring day lights. In some cases exposure lock in needed, as you don't want the drone to shift exposure during your shot when filming like a tower, or when you are flying though something. But I agree most of the time auto exposure is sufficient. Can you really sustain a professional drone business with a Mini 3 Pro?
  • @inkyspider1
Awesome!! great to hear its not just me that uses auto exposure and doesn't spend time trying to work out shutter, frame rate and exp. People, as you say get very hung up on these settings, and happy to report that by the time they are happy (not often) I've already finished my shot and now moving on. Have a cool Christmas buddy.
  • @stardrone
Stumbled across your video and love it. Thanks for not making it confusing and showing us noobs how to get good footage. Can't wait to get back up and try out your suggestions so I can go back to enjoying flying and not worry so much about chasing the perfect settings I saw on YouTube tutorials. Subscribed to your channel and looking forward to your new videos. Thanks again.
  • Thank you very much Ted. I appreciate your work, your explanations and your time. Greetings from Michigan.
  • Another great video with the information we need! Thank you for great content!
  • Ohh am l glad l found this video. Finally someone that doesn't repeat what everyone else is preaching. Liked, subscribed and saved this video so l don't have to look for it when l need to watch it again. Great job, thanks 😀
