Stacy Schmidt spent six hours standing in line outside of the McNamara federal building in downtown Detroit on Saturday. “Hundreds of people, hundreds waiting all day, patiently,” she said. She was waiting to speak with an IRS agent about her tax return and when she could get her money.

    Dear God, I’ve been reading through these comments. Why do people comment Without even watching the video. If they watched the video, they wouldn’t have wasted space in the comments with “why do people wait for last minute”. It is because they did not wait till the last minute. They filed their taxes and got a letter from the IRS That they had to come in. Apparently the brain, dead federal minions didn’t figure out that if they send all these people letters that they have to come in, they Would have to have employees to talk to them.

    Same thing happened in Houston however they closed abruptly due to a fight in the crowd.

    Ummm. WHO EVER WOULD HAVE THOUGHT. Think we've been hood winked maybe? Saw a piece come out of a local Houston News Channel last nite, where this same thing happened on Friday April 12th, 2024.

    My son got letter and followed the directions and actually got a zoom call with irs and completed all they wanted. Told it would take up to 9 weeks for refund. Many others got the letter too in California

    If all the tax forms are entered in the data base with IRS, and also coded to each SIN. so by February, all regular employees can prepare their tax returns via online with the help of tax software?
