i will never understand how, in a 14 minute video, someone can put to words the, what is essentially, political existential crisis ive been going through for the last month and a half and somehow bring me back to reason. You are a gem.

Again, no serious person has ever claimed that the purpose of paper straws is to prevent climate catastrophe or to reduce CO2 emissions. Their purpose (similar to paper cotton buds) is to protect wildlife and marine life, i.e. to prevent impaling sea turtles, sea gulls etc

That was incredibly more insightful than I was expecting it to be, which just goes to show that you should never judge anything solely based on an attention-grabbing title. I should have just continued to trust that Jared would never waste my time with nonsense.
