She was going to die any way because she didn't take the situation with the 24th personality seriously. In fact, she didn't take the personalities seriously enough to the point she had to return to something she missed in her previous discussions. Sometimes people of previous generations utilize the same matriarchal or patriarchal strategy in dealing with people subject to them: "You don't believe that. You're just telling a story. Quit lying." Then because they didn't take it seriously, they end up becoming one of multiple casualties.
