  • Have you read Diary of Ann Frank? No judgement just one momma to another, when I read it as a kid there was confusing sexual content of her experimentation in the story fyi. Unless they have changed it. Some parents are going for the Who was version due to this.
  • Number the Stars was a favorite of mine as a child. I think we read it at around 6th grade and it still is one I think of when I think back to those years!
  • I love that I found your channel!! I suggest when you teach the civil rights consider discussing the birth of certain music genres and how music helped bring people together and through this difficult time! It is not so far in the past...so I love to point out the people who used their gift to bring people together ❤

Appreciate these “kick start” videos for the upcoming school year. It’s good to begin focusing on homeschool again in spite of this crazy year.
  • ❤️ ❤️ One of our family favorite read aloud is Number the Stars! You have some great reads for the year ahead! Enjoy.

Thank you for this video! It gave me some great inspiration!
  • Just commenting to say that I enjoy your videos so much. I am finishing up plans for the upcoming year for my kindergartener and preschooler and have gotten some great ideas from your video! We are trying Before 5 in a Row this year so I look forward to hearing about how you supplement 5 in a Row. I posted a video a couple of weeks ago discussing my kindergarten plans but I'll have to make another since I've added so many ideas that you've suggested! Thanks for your videos and all of the information!

My oldest read The Golden Goblet a couple of years ago for world history. She loved it! Great choice 😊. We also love that Usborne World Wars book. Right now we are reading The War That Saved My Life and we are enjoying that quite a bit - about a girl and her brother that leave London during WWII.
  • @faith20ten
We read the Golden Goblet as a read aloud and it was fantastic!!
  • @ysk1729
LOVE your picks! A handful of these titles are scheduled in future years for my kids (I mainly use AGF) and I’m definitely going to keep an eye out for some of the others you mentioned to add to our home library. We are finishing up charlottes web right now and have five little peppers scheduled as one of the read alouds for our upcoming year. We’re starting back up in July 😊
  • @leahrumsey3021
My library put 5 Little Peppers on the freebie cart! Their loss is now my gain 😁 Also showed some TGTB books that I have completely looked over and now in the cart. Thanks!!!!
  • Oh some great books! We read a few of those last year and I really liked His Indian Brother. Jules Verne is a favourite author of mine! I've never read Number the Stars either.
  • @annaleighadams
The Railway Children and Five Little Peppers are family favorites. We love going back and re-reading. Also Winnie the Pooh and House at Pooh Corner!!!
  • @agamble1126
The Watson's go to Birmingham was my favorite read aloud when I taught school. It is so great.
  • Great picks for the books. I think you look pretty good. You wouldn’t know how I look like today. 🙂
