  • I was just looking at this game on the PS App and in the description is this- “An epic sci fi adventure that no VR gamer should miss out on playing. -PSVR2 Without Parole” Imagine my surprise seeing my man’s quote in a description of a game on the PS App! Really cool to see you recognized!

I'm amazed that there are some people complaining that this game is not worth it for $30 because you only get 6-7 hours of game play. The developer is also apparently pushing out an update that will have all the main characters lines re-recorded to help feel less flat there, so that is good!
  • Fantastic review as always Bryan!! Thanks for all you do for the community and I can’t wait to pick this one up tomorrow
  • I always watch your reviews before making a purchase! The best psvr2 channel 🙏🙏🙏
  • Sounds great! I haven't been even remotely affected by reprojection thus far in my PSVR2 adventures, so it'll be interesting to see if this one bothers me at all. Thanks, hon 💖

I said this at launch when Mura was the hot button topic and now I'll say it again now that reprojection and reprojection blur is the hot topic. There is something to be said about the power of suggestion, as in, if someone suggest that there are graphic issues to be on the look out for then you will be more likely to look out for and see the issue they are talking about. The opposite is true if you go in not looking for those issues at all, most will not find the issue. So just like Mura, i find that reprojection blur is something that most people will not notice unless they go looking for it. The question then becomes, well how do you go looking for it. Well I have found that using the right analog stick to turn is a clear way to induce reprojection blur, more importantly using the right stick to turn at a high speed. Since reprojection is a form of motion interpolation, it is designed to make movement seem faster than it actually is. This interpolation of the image works fine when you are not moving very fast but when you are moving fast and the image on screen is reprojected to be even faster then blur is bound to occur. I have found that the image blur is managed better when either the player turns in the real world (thus eliminating the controller accelerated turning speed) or with controller turning speed is reduced so that the accelerated turn from the controller doesn't cause the image to become blurry temporarily. We must understand that all things blur in fast motion and like motion blur in a flat game the effect is subtle at low framerate (30fps) but overly agrgressive at higher framerate (60fps and beyond). While the ideal is to simply turn it off completely, in instances where turning it off is not option, reducing the speed at which you turn does reduce the amount of blur needed to blend the reprojected frames into the native frames thus creating a smoother overall experience. Personally I find that lower turn speeds can reduce reprojection blur and artifacts altogether, and since there are no twitch shooters in VR it actually feels better to play since it simulates more of a natural turning speed than the normal controller accelerated turn speed.

Your channel delivers the best VR reviews on youtube by far. Period.

I just picked this game up and played the fist chapter. It’s amazing so far and reprojection has not been an issue for me as it has in other titles. Bryan, thank you for delivering amazing, informative reviews with the absolute minimal amount of spoilers. You’re top class of reviewers.
  • @-HICK-
I've been looking forward to this since I saw the first trailer for PCVR... and now it's here in an upgraded fashion! Thanks for the review, great as always!
  • @macmanuse1
Great review. You do an excellent job to talk about types of game play, difficulty, graphics, length, etc. allowing the viewer to make a well informed decision. Why people feel the need to tell you your opinion is wrong if it doesn’t align with theirs is ridiculous. People can be so sensitive to a stupid numbered score. Just know there are still some that value diversity and subjectivity of thought to a number.

I picked up rad matter 2 after your review and couldn't have been any happier so will definitely pick this up. Reprojection won't be a problem for me as I have started to play vr games without using the right stick to turn but instead turn in real life so much more immersive plus no reprojection problems.
  • @seanrm
Great review - thank you. Would appreciate game installation size on the round-up/score info. PS store rarely offers this and not all of us are still rocking loads of HDD space.
  • @bigbige559
I would also recommend going to visual effects in settings and setting the sharpness stat to the maximum of 1.0. I feel like it makes the textures much less muddy in both close and further out ranges.
  • @64Papiculo
Been waiting this one for a long time! Thanks for the review, I will make my own opinion in a few hours :)
  • @ryogo666
I think it's a very cool game so far! The reprojection hasn't been a problem at all for me. What's bothering me the most is to be forced to use the square button to crouch instead of R3. Having to release the movement stick to crouch is a really bad idea...
  • @xiiirob
Great review as always, thanks for the heads up on the reprojection and lack of NG+. I'll still pick it up though =)
  • @Erlaxis
Cool review. I was not aware of this game but it looks solid. I have a few days off work coming and I'm looking for some psvr2 stuff to play, so I will put this on the wishlist =)
  • @DanPyjamas
Thanks Bryan. Great review. Although I do have a question, which relates to a problem I never really expected to exist until I bought tales from the galaxy's edge; which left me a little upset. As someone who is massively into shooters, TFtGE left me underwhelmed. Most of the weapons didn't have any sights and the one(s) that did, aiming properly using them didn't work particularly well. It felt as if the entire gun play was built around shooting from the hip, something that I'm not a fan of. My question... How does the gunplay feel in Hubris compared to TFtGE? I see the pistol has illuminated front posts and rear sights, and that there are optical enhancements. Can you aim guns using these sights like I'd expect?

Excellent video pumped for this one!
