If Europe really cared about it, they would have made their own land in Amazon (in French Guiana) an example of preservation, but it's not the case. They even wanted to build one of the largest gold mine projects there (Montagne d'Or).

The disregard for the environment is a serious problem here. A shame, just like it is in the USA and in almost every country in the world!

Based on actions/sayings during the EU/Mercosur trade negotiations I think Macron thinks he owns the Amazon, and I suspect a large portion of Europeans agree with him.

Forests can grow in the USA and Europe too, just plant the trees, or you can pay Brazil to produce oxygen for you
