It's not Christmas on the Cape without this song. I post it here as a tribute to the man himself. No ownership is implied or intended.

I once worked a job that involved calling CBU (then UCCB) alumni, and that included previous versions of the school- Eastern Institute of Technology of Nova Scotia, Xavier Jr College, etc. Dave Harley, aka General Cabot Trail was on the calling list. I called him and he actually went into a straight up routine and started telling jokes. What an absolute legend, one who blessed us with this masterpiece!

As a Cape Bretoner Abroad, it’s great to hear this droll number. Fond memories of home, and a Little X connection, too - I went in ‘73.

god the memories I have when I hear his voice. Dave was a teachers ad when I was in elementary school , no one at my school knew that he sung this but everyone in the school loved him. I was so sad when my mom and dad told me he died, the school said he was on break at the time and would come back soon
