Hey Link, I really like your videos they are great and really helpful. I have a huge crush on DRZ's but here where I live (Finland) you can't buy new ones only used ones and that kinda sucks, the newest one I found was 2006. But in the other hand these bikes are pretty reliable so that might not be an issue. Next summer I'm going to buy one forsure! Keep it up man, you are the best! 💯
  • Just found your channel, awesome job on all the DRZ content.

Very nicely done and detailed. Your channel is exactly what the drz community was missing on youtube. Did you really notice any real world difference doing this? A video on the drz locktite fixes would be epic! Would also save your countershaft from premature failure

Thanks for the video! Had the same situation on my DR650.
  • Great vid man 🍻 thanks again for an easy vid to follow, there is only a few others on this and they are on Australia bikes which have a diff carb and vacuum setups

For the guys removing the pair valve and installing a Yoshi pipe and header Buy a pipe for the older model of drz without a pair valve system. They actually shaped different to clear the valve. Older style pipe looks cleaner. I found out the hard way.
  • Awesome! Just got a Keihin fcr39 for mine also. I’m cleaning it and replacing gaskets and rejetting. What kind of petcock did you get, what bike did it came off of? Or is it a chinese part like the fcr carb?
  • Nice video! Looking forward to your carburetor video. Where did you pick up your carb? I have been thinking about doing the same but the price for the carburetor is steep
  • Hey awsome video im deffinatly takung that off putting frame sliders in. Do you no if you can delete the canister under rear fender?
  • @sumokid
I got a 2021 and take it from me. Get that vacuum petcock off there ASAP. That sucker was leaking gas by. I got a Pingel Manuel petcock and it’s perfect. Very heavy duty.
  • Hey, I love your DRZ Build series, helps inspire my build forsure. I was just wondering why you did this or what the benifit is of removing this PAIR valve?
  • @CraigSmith568
Are you replacing the petcock because of the carb swap or just to eliminate the vacuum style one? Looking forward to the carb install. You might try taking your sharpie and blacking out the vacuum cap even though that is getting replaced soon. One question, do you have the baffle in the muffler? I would like to change my exhaust, but that is a bit louder than I want. I guess I'm getting old.

Man, I've got to get me one of those little grinders! Is that a 'Harbor freight' tool? Can't wait to see what she sounds like with the new carb! 👍
