Over 1% of Canada's population are in attendance. 400,000 of 31.6 million in 2003.
-
The paint it black transition into the song went fucking crazy
-
I was there. July 30, 2003. SARS Stock. Downsview Park in Toronto. 10 hour concert with 15 different artists including The Rolling Stones, AC/DC, The Guess Who, Justin Timberlake, Blue Rodeo, Tea Party and Rush just to name a few. 450-500K in attendance. Beat $21.50 (Canadian lol) I’ve ever spent.
-
Three accomplished musicians having the time of their lives! That's as good as it gets!
-
Geddy Lee might be the best bassist ever. He sounds like himself no matter the bass you hand him, his style is unique, he plays keyboard and sings while playing bass. What an absolute legend.
-
You're a real fan, Jay - This will last your whole life!!
-
When I saw Rush live they opened with this song. But the version in this particular video starts with them playing a bit of the Rolling Stones’ “Paint It Black,” which they didn’t do at the concert I saw.
-
I encourage you to listen to the song again but with the lyrics in-hand. Rush wrote some of the most complex and meaningful lyrics for songs with some of the greatest riffs you'll ever hear. "But glittering prizes and endless compromises........shatter the illusion of integrity". Amazing.
-
True professionals. Great to see you loving on them. One of the best.
-
1 of my all-time favorite live performances
-
Actually 470,000❤🇨🇦
-
This band is sick, seen them live probably 10-12 times, seriously the best live band ever, insanely good, so much sound for a 3 piece an all 3 are too tier musicians So so good You should check out some early stuff, bytor an the snow dog, the necromancer, if you wanna hear Geddy rip base lines an sing at a level not many can reach check out Something for Nothing, or the eerie Witch Hunt will give you goose bumps
-
Rush laid the smack down on the Rolling Stone’s classic’Paint it Black’ and should’ve done the same to AC/DC’s ‘Back in Black’🤘🖖✌️🎸🥁🎤🎹🥇🇨🇦🎼
-
That opening is homage to the British airwaves, its them hearing the Rolling Stones back in the day on the radios….. (This version)Also to the DJs playing outlawed Rock & Roll. Believe in the freedom of music…….
-
Neil Peart wrote most of the lyrics, composed and arranged every song. Listen to the Trees and Xanadu. Love your reaction. You are now in the Rush Limelight Forever!! Thanks Jay!!
-
Best 3 piece rock band ever. Period.
-
He's playing a xylophone, like he can do anything! Best drummer ♥️
-
That beginning is NOT Spirit of The Radio. It was Paint It Black by The Rolling Stones!
-
I believe that Alex’s wild solo in this song represents the “salesmen”; you know, pushy, manipulative, love the sound of their own voice… and determined to make the finish.
-
BEAUTIFUL reaction!!! Totally ON POINT.... and that's why I'm a subscriber!!!👍
