  • So very well said! I was born and raised in Russia, where I ate all sorts of meats and knew nothing about veganism. It is also so cold in Russia during fall/winter/spring and nothing grows naturally during these months, all fruits and veggies are imported. But now that I live in CA and have access to the whole spectrum of fruits and vegetables all year long, I can easily be vegan, I also love animals tons!
  • @katandann
This is why I like you. No need to hold on to untruths to still support veganism. He'll, I'd go so far as to say that nutrition science may find more things that are good for you that only come from meat, but I would still support veganism and opt for the synthetic versions of those said nutrients. Fuck natural.
  • Was vegan for 10 yrs and gradually developed health issues even when taking supplements. I found out I have conditions where my body cannot process folic acid or other b vitamins properly. So sadly, not possible for everyone. My health issues went away after eating meat again with taking supplements.
  • @CityKanin
I cannot not-harm animals unfortunately. My body needs constant blood transfusions and does not absorb nutrients properly from plants. I already have to eat eight different supplements too. The biggest problem though comes from getting enough calories in. So i have to use milk products and eggs. Otherwise my diet is very plant-heavy. And i appreciate all kind-hearted vegans! :)

We literally cant eat "naturally" like early humans. With modern grocery stores or even home grown gardens, everything we eat is domesticated. We need to drop this whole idea of "eating naturally", it just doesn't make sense with a modern diet. We need to eat a balanced and nutritional diet.

Our ancestors definitely didn't have a Whole Foods Market in the suburbs of their village, lol
  • @vagueann5506
I thought it was a response to the raw food people and their claims of eating only natural food, despite using a dehydrator, blender and cashew nuts etc that aren't raw. But yeah agree
  • @margo8408
I totally understood what you were saying until you said everyone can afford to be vegan and therefore should choose it. This completely ignores people who live in food deserts, people who are living on a low income might not be able to make room in a budget for supplements (those can be very expensive) or people who just don’t have the time to cook their own perfectly balanced vegan meals because they have children, multiple jobs, ect. The vegan diet is a luxury and to try and frame as though it’s something everyone should do ignores a lot of issues that others face.
  • Veganism is not unnatural in India it’s pretty common! 😊
  • Why should I take my vitamins from artificially made capsules and not from the source itself?
  • @dutchik5107
I thought it was because you are not against gmo, processed stuff or supplements.
  • @Hullahstuff
I think you speak really well on the topic. The only thing I disagree with is "virtually all of us have access..." That is simply not true.
  • I think it's important to keep in mind that not everyone can choose to be vegan. I appreciate you telling the truth about a vegan diet, that it's nutritionally deficient.
  • @altariia
I also do see a huge difference between hunting an animal as an opportunistic food source, to be shared with your entire family group than the factory farming we use now. Not that I think hunters in this day and age are justified, but still.
  • I live in rural Scotland and often wonder if it’s actually better to eating fruit and veg from Morocco or some of the local eggs from the farm down the road, I dunno it’s just food for thought x
  • @mia_f
… because it’s unnatural. Does that answer your question?
  • Some people cannot digest plant-heavy diets well, if at all.
  • @hellobaby5112
I like this not ignoring reality and saying it’s what you prefer.
  • @casio4067
Thank you for saying this. Macronutrients are incredibly important for vegans, and vegetarians to be aware of! When i started at 15 i had no idea about macros and thought vegetarian meant simply not eating meat. I ended up living on box mac n cheese andd popcorn with vegetables occasionally mixed into my diet
  • I’m vegetarian plus no eggs. But I can’t be vegan because I’m on a low oxalate diet. Which means little to no nuts, soy, potatoes, or beans. So I really rely on dairy.
