I love public speaking but I am terrified by it too. But crushing a presentation and speaking eloquently without missing a beat is the best feeling.

Me night before a presentation: Oh, prepare in advance... 😳

Timestamps: 0:45 1. Practice from an outline 2:04 2. Spread out practice sessions over time 3:34 3. Focus on just just 1 or 2 improvements each time you practice 4:22 4. Keep practice realistic 5:25 5. Visualize first and last 30 seconds

I'd like to add: 1. Practicing in the mirror, watch your expressions, making sure they are relaxed and not intense. No one wants to see someone look uptight. 2. I like to practice my speech as I walk around doing my usual mundane things. Makes me feel like I'm just thinking, rather than spouting facts. 3. Perhaps, consider what someone might ask and study the subject further. That's just a personal preference since I'm an over-thinking perfectionist 3. Practice with friends, they can help you improve and give you tips 4!! ENJOY YOURSELF!!🎉
  • This is exactly how I prepare for my own presentations. It really works. Can't stress enough how important is to work on a skeleton of the presentation you are going to make. It will REALLY help you be conversational and sound enjoyable.

  • This is great! In 3 days I have a presentation/job interview. This will help out a lot. Thank you very much!

I'm giving my first ever speech tomorrow and this has really helped assure me that what I've been doing to prep is right. Thanks Alex!
  • My presentation is tomorrow morning and I’m already nervous jut by watching this video

Thank you! You were right. I was stressing over a vlog/science video presentation, treating it like a workout, filming for 6 hours with little progress. I also sounded like a robot, as I memorized the speech, and the delivery was monotone. The moment I focus on the range of tone, my brain stops because it wasn't what I memorized. I'll keep these tips in mind.
  • Thank you so much Alex! This was very helpful since I have an upcoming speech where I apply for school captain. The nerves are kicking in and you have reassured me!
  • @Dandylion286
I didn't think about purposely practicing with distractions, I'll have to try that.
  • @EliasCollado
Outstanding video. After performing plenty of research myself, these tips are all new to me. Thank you!
  • Nice work. Woooow. I stumbled upon this one and I am loving it .We are on a 28 days lock down and I going to listen & practice each day. Thanks and much love from Gaborone,Botswana

Thanks again Alex for an awesome video. I find practicing super repetitive and robotic almost. It is so true that I want to listen to someone as if it was a conversation. I am going to put these tips into practice.
  • Thanks for the video. I want to be a good specheer at english presentations (spanish is my mother language) and am reading a lot to level up the skill and get expression and words but sometimes I feel no advancements but this video gives me a sense of calm since it all is a process. I actually I am repeating the teachings in front of the mirror now :)
