A MacBook SE 😂 That thing would have a MagSafe port, one USB C port, no head phone jack, 60 hertz display, most likely an M1 chip and chasis, 13 inch display, 8 gb ram 128gb SSD, no back light on the keyboard, low display brightness, 720p FaceTime camera, possibly even no Touch ID to keep cost low, this thing is going to be an M1 MacBook Air with 1/3 of the features 💀
-
There’s already a $699 MacBook. It’s a base model M1 MacBook Air sold exclusively at Walmart online.
-
Being Apple, they will introduce Apple MacBook SE with 4GB Ram and 64GB SSD.
-
I actually really liked the butterfly keyboard. I still have an old 15" pro that I keep around and will sometimes pull out and use for long typing sessions.
-
What if the m1 to Walmart was a test for Apple to see an SE would sell? A 12 inch m1 would sell fast! Tie that with a iPad mini
-
Apple isn't releasing a MacBook SE. They are selling their M1 for $699 at Walmart.
-
Isn't that mystery already solved. Since M1 Air base model is sold in Walmart for $699?
-
My idea is to build a platic chassy instead of aluminum metal casing just like the mbp 2007 white one, with up to 24 GB ram and 512G SSD, but make the screen as big as the 14 in mbp. This will suit its name Special Edition.
-
I don’t understand why Apple would do this. They’re not apparently having any problem selling their current models, it would kill their refurbished sales and lower resale value for their loyal customers. People consider MacBooks premium computers - it would run the risk of cheapening the brand just for more volume.
-
If Apple does come out with an SE model, it'll be the same model they are selling in walmart now. That form factor is dated but iconic. Put in MagSafe and move one of the usb c ports to the other side and you'd have the perfect entry level laptop. Keep that form factor and every couple of years up date it to a newer chip. Once the M4 chip is released, I can see a line up of M4 MBA, M3 MBA then an M2 MB SE
-
Maybe upgrade the base Mac book air to have 10 or 12gb ram and a 320gb ssd to further diferentiate from a SE model. Or use iPhone CPU for the SE as they're are generally more powerfull that a phone needs anyway.
-
Why by a MacBook Air with a 12" display when you can get a 13" M1 Macbook Air for $699 now?
-
Mostly economically cheap MacBook SE with M1 and 8 GB price $599/128 or 256 GB $699 is back then a discontinued before MacBook Air M1 except reduced 12-14 hours battery will be screen 12"
-
I think this could stick for 12 inch, because of extreme portability and expanding books app with easy publishing process… it would be a perfect device for writers and students are simple repetitive writers
-
The 2020 MacBook Air sell at Walmart for 699
-
Because a $699 13.3" M1 is likely to be only $599 in the "Education Store", the price point to hit to sell them at Walmart would have to be $499. Could Apple sell them profitably at that price? Probably not, as Walmart would want a 40% margin on the retail price. Apple should just keep doing what Apple does best, charging too much for computers that need $400 in DRAM and SSD upgrades to be future proofed for a 6-10 year don't-need-to-upgrade-yet run, but work just fine in base form for casual users.
-
Here we go again with ChatGPT suggested video titles! 😂
-
All they need to do is produce it in some funky bold colors and there will be buyers
-
If that’s gonna drop, that thing is gonna fail miserably, in my opinion. Because the older apple silicon macs are getting a lot cheaper.
-
I travel a lot and would love to have a 12 inch macbook
