This is my sound postproduction project I've done at school. The task was to create your own soundtrack to a chosen video. I've recorded voices of amateur actors, foleys and chose and edited music and sound effects.

Music used by me in this piece was taken from the features:

'The Princess Bride' - Mark Knopfler
'Walk The Line' - T Bone Burnett
'La Strada' - Nino Rota

and animations:

'Up' - Michael Giacchino
'Treasure Planet' - James Newton Howard
'Cars' - Randy Newman

I also used a theme from 'Twin Peaks' series by Angelo Badalamenti and some pieces from Paris Music library.

Moral of story: Despite peoples differences, they both can be beautiful.

Now this is animation. Not only it uses unmoving plaid technique, but also used both CGI and (my most favorite) squash and stretch, frame by frame, traditional animation in the actual old fashioned UPA/Spumco-esque cartoon style (not the Steven Universe-esque style)
  • More character development in one short (very amazing and nostalgic) animation than in most modern Netflix shows imo

Imagine how difficult it was for the creators to explain the plot of this film to their coworkers.
  • I remember this when I was a kid. It was funny to see that they are fighting and then became friends. Good animation, it brings my memories back

Is anyone going to talk about how brilliant this short is from a technical standpoint?

4:44 Emotion: oh that’s beautiful Knowledge: the sun doesn’t rise and fall from the same spot Imagination: maybe they’re displaying parallel universes the two differences being the time of day and the direction the Earth rotates
  • Wow for a 9 year old video I really love the idea and how they move and just everything I love this. Very well done

I feel like I've seen this before. Getting a lot of nostalgic vibes. This animation is so stretchy and smooth! I love this! :) ❤
