The Rituals of Hajj: Their Meaning & Significance | Dr. Shabir Ally

Published 2021-07-09
Why do Muslims wear special clothing during Hajj? Why do they circle the Ka'bah and run between the hillocks of Safa and Marwa? Dr. Shabir Ally says every ritual of Hajj is packed with meaning, but we can't claim to know all of it; we follow what has been prescribed in the Quran or is known to have been practiced by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Nevertheless, Dr. Shabir says that trying to grasp the meaning not only fills the rituals with life, but also helps us understand what could be left out without going against the overall purpose and spirit of Hajj.

This has become one of my favorite channels. I stumbled upon it by happy coincidence after the YouTube algorithm suggested it.

The reference point and the marker cannot be interchanged. If the marker is removed and transported to a new location, the reference point remain unchanged. At the height of the Islamic civil war in the last quarter of the 7th century, the Kaaba and Masjidul Haram at Bakkah, Quran 3:96, sustained severe damage from the intense bombardment by the Ummaya forces. Ibn Zubair further dismantled the Kaaba at Bakkah and, it was at this point that the marker of the Kaaba, the BLACKSTONE, WAS REMOVED AND TRANSPORTED to the Hijaz in present-day Mecca, which explains why Masjeedul Aqsa has two Qibla structures, an original one that faces Bakkah and a second one that faces present-day Mecca. After the Siege of Bakkah (not Mecca), the Ummaya rebuilt the ruined Kaaba WITHOUT THE BLACKSTONE. Decades or a century later, the Ummayad Caliphate ended with the rise of the Abbasid Caliphate. With the Blackstone incorporated in a new structure resembling the 'Kaaba' and 'Masjidul Haram', Mecca replaced Bakkah as the reference point of the qibla direction. QUESTION? Can a marker, the blackstone, change the Reference Point of the Qibla? The obvious answer is NO. The Kaaba no doubt has been politicized by a devastating civil war to the extent that the entire Muslim world has been deprived of the proper QIBLA with the Kaaba originally built by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) Quran 3:96 in Bakkah. The Abbasid Caliphate is the primary sponsor of the Bakkah-is-Makkah Tafsir which persists to this day, a falsehood advocated for over 1300 years. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ had never set his foot in Makkah in the Hijaz. Unless we confront this reality, the Muslim world can never rise as the Khaira Ummatin Ukhrijat Lin-Nas. The other name of Allah is Al Haq. When we stop seeking The Truth we also stop worshipping Allah SWT.

Number π. In Quran zuyyina lilnnāsi hubbu l-shahawāti mina l-nisai wal-banīna wal-qanāṭīri l muqanțarati mina l-dhahabi wal-fidati wal-khayli l-musawamati wal-an'āmi wal harthi dhalika mata'u l-ḥayati l-dun'yā wal lahu 'indahu hus'nu l-maābi Beautified for people is the love of that which they desire - of women and sons, heaped-up sums of gold and silver, fine branded horses, and cattle and tilled land. That is the enjoyment of worldly life, but Allah has with Him the best ** return**. This ayat is in surah 3 number 14 The word (maabi) it is translateted (Place of return) and we know that π radian is 180°. bal badā lahum mā kānū yukh'fūna min qablu walaw ** ruddū la'ādū** limā nuhū 'anhu wa-innahum lakādhibūna The truth they used to hide will become all too clear to them. But if they were sent back, they would return to what they had been forbidden. For they are indeed liars. This ayat is in surah 6 verse 28 Do you see the pattern know. The words (ruddu laadu) have the meaning a full return to the same point so 2π= 6.28 radian = 360 °. All thanks are to Allah.

10min video does not do justice in regards to such a topic. Yes there were certain things brought up superficially and vaguely and yet very important things ignored completely. Dan Gibson getting mentioned just shows for it. 4:26-4:48 "we have given you the seven oft-repeated things and the grand Quran (Quran 15:87) seven seems to have a significance in the Quran and we know that there are 7 days in a week. There seems to be something about 7God knows the secret behind this." There is authentic narrations on the ayah 15:87 which you failed to mention and acknowledge Surah al Fatiha 🤷‍♂️ as muslims we are supposed to recite this surah a minimum of 17 times per day in our Fard salah YOU SHOULD KNOW THIS and should have AT THE MOST ACKNIWLEDGED IT. 6:11 "this is the whole idea of circum ambulation its a ritual that brings one close in relation to the angels in heaven and also ultimately with God" 🙄 brings one close in relation to the angels in heaven 🤔🙄🤷‍♂️ any evidence of this claim shabir Ally? Isn't everything we do for the sake of Allah (swt) ALONE and not associating partners with him.? The more I watch old and current videos of letting the Quran speak I am becoming VERY CONCE
  • How does your explanation refute Dan Gibson's theory? These aren't even decent hillocks, whereas the most likely site for the two mountains is in Jerusalem, if not Petra.
  • Hajj is not any kind of Ritual but it is a rite. Only those rites for Islamic Hajj are valid which have roots in Noble Quran. All those rites which do not have roots in Quran but are being practiced, were indeed parts of rites of pre-Quranic Meccan Pagans. For example: Talbiya (contradicts Omnipresence of God 57:4, 50:16, 2:115), walking seven rounds around Ka'ba, kissing black stone, and throwing tiny stones on invisible Iblis are rites of pre-Quranic Meccan Pagans, and these rites have no any relation with Islamic Hajj 10:15, 6:114, 6:19, 16:116, 29:51, 10:59-60

Please explain what will god do AFTER the souls are in heaven and hell for the rest of eternity? Being all powerful, watching us living Groundhog Day must be boring so what else is there to do?
