Probably the main reason why movies like The Lego Movie, the first Wreck-It-Ralph, and Chip N Dale worked is because they still had the focus be on the main characters, their stories, and their conflicts with all the crossover cameos being on the side for jokes to poke fun at them, while Wreck-It-Ralph 2 and Space Jam 2 were just Disney and WB shoving their IPs in your face for like an hour.

If Multiversus added Emmet... Then the Chris Pratt trilogy would be complete!
  • I'm very easily pleased when it comes to movies and shows, but Ralph Breaks the Internet was the first time I ever walked out of a theater disappointed. Like, you've already set up these amazing and unique characters!? In a beautifully imagined world that could have been further explored w/o leaving the arcade!? How do they mess up that badly!? Sure, we got the princess cameo, but that would have worked so wonderfully as a short instead of a full-length movie! Anyways, I'll just go back to pretending Wreck it Ralph is the perfect stand-alone film that definitely does not have a terrible sequel.
  • I too liked The Princesses' cameo in Wreck-It-Ralph 2. Even if the rest of the movie aged badly, They were definitely the Most Memorable Part of the movie, and it was nice how Their Voice Actresses got to reprise their roles. Plus their comfy outfits looked magnificent.

I didn't realize Chip and Dale had even more references that aren't Disney characters. I honestly thought the reason why they got away with putting the ugly Sonic in there was because Paramount and Sega pretty much disowned the character and wanted absolutely nothing to do with it after making Sonic look much better in the final release of the first Sonic movie. as in there is no copyright holder for ugly Sonic so anybody could do what they please with that character I guess.

Personally I think Crossover movies should be done more like Avengers movies. Have the characters that are crossing over with people be the focus and not have them have cameos cause “ha ha reference funny”. Speaking of reference humor, Only do reference humor when it’s an iconic humorous part of the character. For example you can do a muscle man “MY MOM” joke hit if he’s a core character in the story(as weird as it sounds) What I’m trying to say is make something a bit like the Nicktoons Unite games but without too much meta humor
  • With Ready Player One, there were a ton of pop culture references in the book, so technically it’s just following in the book’s footsteps
  • Another point you forgot is that usually, the main characters are original. Emmet, Ralph, Roger Rabbit, all of them were created specifically for the ip movie. This is a good thing, sometimes we're tired of seeing old done-to-death characters in a setting with already familiar characters. Chip and dale, while not original, might as well be because they are a kind of different versions of the chipmunks we've seen before and act differently with hints of their past versions.
  • I gotta say that Chip and Dale rescue rangers was a great movie. They added a lot of memorable cartoon characters kind of like Roger Rabbit did (He also made a cameo in the movie lol). The original characters like Bob the warrior, Bjornsen, and Jim the polar bear were enjoyable. Ugly Sonic was my favorite because I thought he was funny :)
  • We need a smash bros movie that would be a successful crossover movie

I really like crossover movies, I love how different characters interact, it’s like that one class project where the teacher picks the partners

4:32 UNFORTUNATELY I’d have to disagree. I think that, although it’s in my top ten movies of all time, the LEGO movie is the reason companies this can work. However, the companies forget that the IP’s aren’t the reason it was good, it was the humor and the story and the animation and the emotion

I agree with Ralph breaks the internet- I really loved all the colors and characters, but everything felt so forced- I couldn’t enjoy it without feeling like the characters put in were just there for advertisements! I was extremely upset when it came to Vannelope(probably didn’t spell that right) she was one of my favorite characters and I kinda feel like they ruined her character a bit..? I know it could be seen as development, but it came out of no where- sorry just a little rant, but they should’ve just kept the first movie

May is one of the most underrated youtubers!! So entertaining and has a consistent upload schedule:)
  • What pisses me off more about Wreck it Ralph 2 is that the movie could've easily been about modern video games or modern online video games compared to how the last movie was focused on classic arcade games, or it could've been about some sort of problem with Litwacks Arcade. I know the second movie had slaughter race and online players, but it was pretty much the only part in the movie where Ralph and Vanelope go into video game or interact with characters from a modern video game rather than an old arcade game. What makes me even more angry is that the second movie focused on things like memes social media, YouTube, flossing, and whatever the hell else kids are into these days while the first movie focused on a world within an arcade with a good story, plot, and one of the greatest plot twists in animation. They even made Ralph stupid in the sequel when we all know he was never stupid, he just wanted to be treated with respect. It WIW 1, When Felix says he doesn't know what it feels like to be treated poorly, Ralph says " That's every day of my life." And then he continues to talk about why he ran off in the first place. We know damn well that the Ralph in the second movie wouldn't have even done that.

Your better animating and editing always is making me surprised and satisfied :)
  • Well, "READY PLAYER ONE" was based on a book and the story was relatively the same, but the characters weren't so bland. If you're curious as to what I'm taking about, just read the book. Trust me, it's a good time.
