Damn I did not expect this video to do this well thank you for the support
  • Bad dad or not, him defying the laws of the afterlife to run Bojack’s fade to save his son is undeniably proof that he cares.

Dragon Ball fans explaining how literally dying for your son twice makes you a bad father:

I think people forget that Goku’s entire reasoning for fighting Raditz wasn’t to save the Earth or his pride, it was to save his son.
  • @yousseftamer4943
He sacrificed himself twice for his son, broke the rules of the afterlife for his son, never forced anything upon his son unless it was for his son’s own well-being, trusted in his son, took accountability for his and his son’s mistakes, supported his son through thick and thin, took pride in his son’s achievements, spent time with his son whenever he had the chance, made sure his son was safe no matter what, despised seeing his son be hurt and did everything in his power to minimize the damage, and did everything to make sure his son grew up to be a good child. He wasn’t the best father, sure, but when you’re the literal guardian of Earth, this is more than enough to be a very good father.

Goku's greatest act as a father was preventing Chichi from naming him Archimedes. Edit: Dragonball Z was dubbed by multiple Studios back in the day. The one I watched had it where Chichi said Archimedes instead of Einstein.

The fact that Gohan and Goten love their dad is a testament to Goku being a good father.

The same people hating on Goku praise Piccolo for kidnapping a child, starving him, and beating him. Stockholm Syndrome personified.

An underrated part of Goku as a father, that I dont think is brought up alot, is his supportiveness of Gohan’s desire to be a scholar despite knowing his potential as a fighter.
  • Hes not a perfect father, but he tried his damn best. I would love to have a dad who was as unconditionally supportive and loving as Goku, even if hes a bit dense.
  • Just... Goku’s expression when he figures out his son doesn't like fighting. Gives me the chills.

“The power comes in response to a need, not a desire. You have to create that need.” Actual life advice from Goku

"you know what your mother would say if she was here, but since she's not" 😂😂😂 totally a dad thing

For a man who’s the main guardian of an entire planet, from a race of people not usually meant to care for their kids much at all. I’d say he did a damn good job.

R.I.P., Akira Toriyama. Thank you for giving us a legacy.

This version of goku in dbz is actually a pretty deep guy. He isn’t so emotionless as they peg him to be. He values family and friendships just as much as martial arts. Outside of being a saiyan I think he realizes that martial art has brought him a whole circle of friends and family he didn’t have when he was alone as a child.
  • I Never realized how often Goku calls Gohan Champ, or says things like “I’m proud of you.” DBZA has kinda overwritten most of the English dub in my head

The fact that goku knew he didnt stand a chance and still ran the fade first against cell is incredible
