  • Having owned a Porsche, several Audi’s, and several Lincoln Continentals, I have now own a Lyriq 600e4. When comparing with previous cars it’s an extraordinary car which I call my “so-so” car. SO smooth, SO quiet, SO powerful, SO intelligent, and finally, with SuperCruise, SO relaxing. If you want more luxury, you should look at future upper scale Cadillac EV’s. The BIG, BIG problem with the Genesis is LIMITED RANGE as with the Audi, BMW, and Jaguar!

Nice to have someone who knows the history of the brand.
  • No wonder GM did not want Carl to review their Cadillac. However, Carl is a great reviewer I appreciate the great depth he brings to his reviews.
  • @indopleaser
Wish this guy could review all types of cars. Does a great job

The biggest issue for me, with a friend who had a Lyriq, was the charging didn't enable you to change the current draw. So when she arrived at a hotel with an old Level 2 charger, she kept tripping the breaker and couldn't charge. With only 7 miles of range left, it became a huge problem.

You are reviewing a 2023 lyriq, they have changed door handles for 2024. Also the level 3 trim has the Napa Leather option.

It's interesting. We own a Lucid. My father has a Lyriq. The entire extended family thinks the interior of the Lyriq is head and shoulders better than the Lucid. Seats in the Lyriq are far more comfortable - front and back. Screen in the Lyriq is way better. The glove box release nonsense is the same (and seems the same in any other damn EV that tries to get rid of buttons), and generally all the physical controls are better in the Lyriq than the Lucid both in terms of feel as well as function.

I’m so glad Carl talked about having to power on the car and the car yelling at you. Has always been a pet peeve and now having the Model 3 with no key, no powering on, no yelling, I don’t see how I can ever go back to all of that. Until the other manufacturers ditch the key fob, the powering on, and the yelling, I’ll have to stick with Tesla.

Thank you Carl, for the history lesson, the perspective, and the detailed review of the Lyriq. I have never been a fan of Cadillac, but the historical context that you provided helped a lot to understand why so many have over the years. The back and forth between Henry Ford and what emerged from that tussle as Cadillac was a priceless example of why my goto when trying to understand what a company is thinking, and perhaps what they should be thinking instead, is always Munro and Associates.
  • @Kurejiii
You got that Lyriq from my Dad! Glad to see that we could help you make this video and help get our site out there!

Always learn so much from Carl’s insight and experience. Thanks for the lessons.
  • @miko20748
Hold the power button for 3 seconds without your foot on the brake to turn on accessory mode. Then you can open the glove box.
  • @JoeJalopy
His patience in opening the glovebox is epic!

Big Carl. One of the main reasons I subscribe and watch Munro Live.
  • I think that this is Carl's best review I have seen. Good job! Thanks.
  • @TomCrouchman.
Very truthful evaluation. This is why I come here.
  • @fcv1967
I know how Carl loves the Cadillacs. Great to see him get a review on this one.
  • @geft
I was so hoping that the Lyric was going to be as good as promised but it seems like GM has just gone off the rails lately with its EVs. Thanks Carl for you honest and detailed assessment.
  • @FritsSpieker
Yet another Carl classic. I just love the "I am assuming...", "I am not saying...." and "it starts to fall apart....". Really liked the history part. 👍
