He produces his own music, has his own sound since he was a teenager and now he has a direction he wants to and isn't messed up by addiction, a real role model and he has 2 Grammys lol
-
The industry needs Tyler way more than Tyler needs the industry. Dude is out there making music he wants to make and hear while most everyone else willingly compromises their vision for the paycheck.
-
Even to this day, Tyler deserves more respect. He is personally one of my favorite rappers of all time. It is crazy how underrated he is, especially because of how successful and talented he is.
-
Lets not even talk about what he did for Supreme as a brand. Literally the reason that brand got as big as it did. Supreme owes him and odd future a lifetime supply. Mans is a legend
-
Tyler The Creator proved he doesn't need the industry. He's a self-made successful musician. I have the utmost respect for him because of his passion and amazing intelligence when it comes to music history. To many artist make music purely for streams and money. He does it for the love he has for music.

Him and Rocky deserve alot of respect for real

Tyler really opened my eyes and ears to the world of music. I grow up never really listening to music like that but, after listening to igor my life change and i really thank Tyler for that.

Alright, anybody who lived or grew up in LA from 2011-2013 knows how Tyler & OF changed the landscape. From the style to the music there was a point in time everybody wanted to be like Tyler. It wasn’t only valley type suburb kids who latched onto his vibe it was a lot of us from South Central, ELA, Compton etc. who gravitated towards him. His music was different from artists like TY$, YG, Joe Moses, RJ, E-40 who were dominating the LA airwaves with function/club bangers which was the popular genre here at the time. Now I will say that his music wasn’t for everybody but Yonkers was definitely a song that damn near everybody was bumping back then.

This should be titled "Why hiphop doesn't deserve Tyler the Creator". This guys love and passion for his craft is diametric to the clout chasing industry pop rappers that dominate the scene right now.
-
Tyler is an Artist. He makes art not the latest trending thing, cause then you'll lose yourself. Tyler's music is timeless, it doesn't expire. I respect this man for not being influenced by the drugs, the industry. He is an independent thinker. I love this about him
-
Im so glad that tyler is different and decided not to change for the industry.
-
Find it wild that a lot of artists rejected Tyler yet allowed a ton 1 hit wonders with no talent collab with them.
-
It’s worth pointing out that while he was being ignored/dissed by most of HipHop, Eminem shouted out Tyler in a song in 2013 and then had Odd Future open for him at Wembly Stadium in 2014
-
Tyler’s music isn’t quite for me, but I respect the hell out of him. He stayed true to himself and still found success in a system that actively tried to keep him down. Sure, it would’ve been easier and more convenient to just make the music that makes money, but he didn’t let anyone or anything get in the way of his creative vision.
-
You wouldn't hear him at a club or in a car because generally people want to listen to music that is just stereotypical/upbeat and won't give his music a chance no matter how deep it is.
-
They don't really respect him for two reasons; he first made music where it was raunchy but in a goofy way and people probably didn't know whether to take him seriously or not because he was so goofy back then, but when he came out as bisexual the black community definitely lost a little bit of respect for him because you know how the rap and black communities are when it comes to those things. We have a lot of work to do.

As a 36 year old millennial who’s been rocking with Tyler since Bastard, pissed me off when my peers laughed at me when I said Tyler was/is one of the most talented artists of our generation. It’s like that can’t disconnect him from clips they’ve seen from his goblin days. I finally got one of my gfs to give Igor and Call Me When You Get Lost a try and they completely changed their views. It’s crazy how slept on he is. He’s one of the few artists right now who is evolving each album.
-
IGOR and CMIYGL are both masterpieces. Tyler is on an incredible run right now, it’s some legendary stuff!
-
i’ve been recording and releasing music for a little over 4 years now. it’s been so difficult trying to find my slot in the game where i fit because it’s all over the place. this video single handedly felt like a pat on the back, thank you for telling this story and reminding me it’s okay to be a little different.

Tyler, The Creator was an extraordinary rapper that I absolutely adored his music (especially Earl Sweatshirt's music). He is the guy who experimented his projects and don't give a fuck about getting famous, he was just having fun with it. I don't care that other medias or everyone called him "weirdo", he was just being himself. Love you Tyler for creating some masterpieces.
