WHY hasn't this video gone viral? WOW you explained all the problems and gave the fixes. PLUS I didn't know the grocery store ones were fried. Banana powder? WOW I will recommend this to anyone that likes dried food. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
  • @wiremanibew
I put my bananas in the freezer 1st to harden for easier slicing and laying out on my trays

All this time I thought the banana chips at the store were dehydrated! Thank you for that bit of knowledge .
  • This video is just what I needed. My sister's banana tree produced 60 bananas! We were getting ready to freeze them but now I'm going dehydrate as many as I can. Thank you so much. 😊
  • @katrinaDS
Banana chips are so good! I love the idea of blending them for extra banana flavor in baking. ❤
  • @Hooptyc
Finally! I have always wanted to know how to make them snap. Thank you!

My bananas always turn out perfect but they take a long time to dehydrate. Almost 24 hrs on 135F but for the last few hrs I turn the heat up to 150F so they get nice and crunchy. I also use bananas that are not too ripe and don’t use lemon.
  • Freeze dry your banana peels and grind them into powder. You can sprinkle them around your tomato plants

Thanks so much for teaching me how to make crisp banana chips. My daughter loves crisp chips but my son loves the chewy banana chips. The best part of the crisp chips i can powdered them and put them in recipes 😊

Thanks Darcey been afraid to dehydrate bananas, not anymore! Appreciate your hard work.

When I got my dehydrator, the first project I tried was bananas. Oops! I made all the errors you showed in this video and then some. It took 2 days to get close to dry. I was so disheartened that I put the dehydrator back in the box and almost sent it back. It stayed in the box for 2 years. Then I found your channel. Thanks so much for all your teaching! Now, I love my dehydrator, it is a off-brand from Amazon. I have done so many projects that I love and depend on having in my pantry.

Thank you, i did not know that the store bough ones were fried.

This was the perfect time. I had just sat down to process bananas and this was the first thing I saw.

hi purposeful pantry 🤗 thanks for this info. i just dehydrated bananas a few days ago. they do end up somewhat bendy, but we eat them so quickly that we dont mind not having a complete snap. and i definitely don't want to fry them like the stores do. tfs

I've dipped my bananas in oj for about 4 decades. Love them! Soft and delicious. Don't like crunchy banana chips.
  • @debibreul7820
Definitely need to try the bananas again. dehydrated them today and definitely need to cut them thinner.
  • Thanks Darcey for all you share. Such a valuable bit of knowledge since i love my dehydrater.
  • @carinagarage658
