Thanks for your videos my guy. If that dealer loses you they’re doomed! You’re a strong part of that puzzle homie!

Was a mechanic for 10 years, spent 5 of them working for Ford. Absolutely loved doing these jobs when I was left alone to do them. Never got daring enough to pull the cab on an Expedition myself, but I pulled F-150 cabs every chance I had. And this is one of the jobs that actually makes me miss being a mechanic. But, I like my Trains now.
  • @rocklinjohn
Excellent job, Man! Great explanation. Very honest and thorough! Thanks!

Your vids are gold. I currently have a 2017 f150 3.5L (51k miles, no rattle yet) and I was thinking about getting a new truck.... even considering Chevy or Ram, but you've kind of helped me understand the 3.5L issues, and they're not that scary. I love my 3.5l, and think I'll probably end up getting another one if the price is right.

I just want to add that your videos are the best instructional videos i've ever seen. You don't over explain yourself. You get right to the point, and I can understand what you say clearly. Love your videos. Keep up the good work.
  • @Harveje
Great video and you are 100% correct, ford phasers,GM lifters and trans, Jeep lifters and oil coolers, etc, etc. and electrical gremlins with all them.
  • @hughtruex
I appreciate the time you take to keep us informed!!!
  • @hialeahhigh
Thank god you're gonna make a video of the wastegate rattle
  • You should do a video on how to lift the expedition body off it's frame. Thinking about doing this job, just a quick overview of what needs to be disconnected would be cool! Thanks!
  • @OneAV8
Your videos are always straight to the point and informative. Good job- and thanks!

Here because my 18 3.5 EB is at 48K miles with stock phasers. That last comment……yep, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise about the GM L84/L87 lifters. 2022 Escalade with 6K miles just had out lifters replaced.

The dealer mechanic did a great job on the repair. The hpfp wasn't the cause of the idle knock either because that noise is gone too! Nice a quiet at start up and hot idle. Thanks for this video!!!

Thanks for doing what you do on the channel. Love it. Question for you regarding my 2017 3.5 EcoBoost. Truck just turned 150,000 mi. I don't worry about the rattle at startup anymore. Is there any harm running the truck with the original factory cam phasers? Truck runs fine, just a little rattle at startup. I plan on keeping it another 25 or 30,000 miles. Am I at risk of destroying the motor or just drive it?
  • They need an updated cam phaser for the 2018-2019 5.0. Any update on this engine deceleration rattle phaser issue?
  • @desertratsss
Thanks Sir Mason. We have a 2017 and a2019. So far so good. Just waiting for 😢
  • @gregquinn6827
When that pin on the phaser breaks, does it wind up in the bottom of the oil pan?
  • @Patrick-qv8qe
Mines in the shop getting this done @42,700 miles. Thanks for the updated part number-I'm checking to make sure I get the new style installed!! 2018 F150
