Brines box is just a food counter not a “restaurant”…Ruby’s was empty for quite a few years now. Oceanside really needs to clean up the pier and make it fit for purpose. A real shame it’s burning.

1983 is when the pier collapsed last, so many people helped to rebuild by buying (A piece of the pier,) How sad to see it all going up in smoke...

I am from Oceanside and I was just there in March and we had a great time together there I only seen one strange person on the pier so I’m guessing insurance purposes. I stay in Albuquerque now and their is no way as much homeless in Oceanside as their is in Burque/Albuquerque

All that water right next to the pier and the helicopter flies all that way over somewhere else to get it.

Ruby's has been closed as well as the one in Huntington Beach.

I was actually fishing when this happened i just got home i have videos of when it started

I drove past last week and its pretty sad. I remember me, my brother, and my mom going to rubys and getting milkshakes after spending a day at the beach when i was younger.

What a shame. I'm up the road in the SF Bay Area. These old piers on the west coast are real treasures. Hope this gets people in gear to preserve them.
