I love the positivity that Rick brings to almost every video
  • 1. Please buy a new drop saw or repair the guard, it can go right a hundred times but it only needs to go wrong once... 2. Pit vipers are not the same as safety glasses, you only get one set of eyes Rick 3. A common hack for pvc rails is to get two different sized pipes, one with the OD (outer diameter) that is the same as the ID of the other and hammer one into the other, getting a double wall pipe that is much stronger

As a blader we always use pvc p rails. Just a little tip use a piece of square fence post or something like that and put it in the middle of the pvc for durability lol

Haha yep Rick said it at the beginning of the video. My friends and I did exactly that. We built a rail to grind on out of pvc pipe. First rail I learned to boardslide was this rail.

back in like 2004 i made a pvc rail with 2x4s and 1 10ft section of 4" pvc, drilled holes in the top of the pvc to screw into the wood under it, it worked great for years and was super cheap. i built it high enough to keep noobs off it, because all they would do is ride into our other rail and knock it over instead of ollieing and landing on top of it.

This is how we do it on the ski/snowboard side of things for backyard summer setups! 😁🤘
  • Guys buy a piece of pvc the same diameter as the rail. Make a 1.5 wide rip long way on the pvc the cut an additional 1/4” on each side of the rip to fit around the legs and just snap it right on the rail

First rail I ever built was a 4x4 piece of wood with a pvc gutter turned upside down over the top and 2x4s for stability and height. The gutter was shaped like a curb so it worked for learning slappys too. Plus since it was made to be outside for years it wasnt as brittle as alot of pvc and had some super slick coating. If you've never skated anything pvc then maybe youve never skated at all.

If done properly PVC slides amazingly and can easily be used on a rail or grind-ledge as done it myself decades ago with scraps had laying around. Basically what those rails are anyway that people suddenly started using again on their decks we had back in the 80's & 90's.
  • As someone with the same hair as Rick can we get the hairstyle tutorial on this hair due in start of the next vid haha 🙏🏽🙏🏽

Back when I was in high school I made a PVC rail for my friends & I , we used it for skateboards & bikes & at the time most of us who rode bikes had metal pegs & you want to talk about buttery & 16 foot long rail out of PVC way scarier than metal with wax .

I figured you guys would be able to slide on this rail, but I didn't think it'd be possible to grind! Too cool lol. Fun video!
