bowing to political correctness is their worst mistake, especially when there was nothing racist about splash mountain. no reference to slave days whatsoever. it was a ride about the adventures of a rabbit being chased by a fox and a bear. when i finally get to ride it,nothing will keep me from singing "zip a dee doo dah" after the big drop.

You are correct. It's only a tiny fraction of what Splash was. Sad.

Biggest mistake is not having any stake in this ride. I remember the first time being terrified when we reached the final drop and it wasn't so much of a drop but the visuals and atmosphere with the vulchers and Brer Rabbit captured. It made the drop much more terrifying. My mom had to convince me to look up at the vulchers to show me that they weren't a threat because their phrases and voices were just so scary lol.

Disney trying not to replace classic attractions that aren't Pirates of the Caribbean or The Haunted Mansion for the sake of it challenge (IMPOSSIBLE)

If you replace Splash Mountain, you have to GO ALL IN. You have to have the ride be about the movie. You have to create tension, add Dr. Facilier and create a reason to be on the ride. Instead, as usual, Disney goes the safe route and creates Splash Boredom.
  • The mistake isn’t that they made this ride. It looks great. The mistake is that they replaced Splash Mountain to create this ride.

I love your singing and character impressions!

Disney ruined the greatest log ride in the world. This is sad and one of the worst things that Disney has ever done.

So basically they said “what if we put the rainforest cafe inside of splash mountain and called it princess and the frog?”
  • I’d rather ride a cheap haunted house at the state fair instead of Tiana’s bayou adventure.

Splash Mountain had to die for this??? Trying to replace it in the first place was a big mistake but my god, this ride is abysmal!!! 😮‍💨

I have decided that the new song reminds me of “Company Way” from “How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying”
  • @MioRaem
You should do another video on this because the ride is getting ratio'ed to hell and back. By now, it's 2/3s dislikes, it's unreal how hard Disney dropped the ball on this. Almost NO ONE likes it.
  • @hillelhalevi
You are spot on with your comments. Splash Mountain was theme park genius. It was one of the best attractions I've ever seen. It was truly a masterpiece, a work of art. They should never have dumped it. Bad move.

It’s a HUGE downgrade from the previous ride! ☹️
  • While I appreciate the animatronics and technical achievements, story wise, it's full of "so what?" There's no real threat, no real danger prior to the drop. Say what you will about the original, at least there was excitement before the drop (and a happy and memorable tune at the end to balance things out). The original made you feel something emotionally. There was just a ton of missed opportunity.
  • The blueprint to silence the majority of the criticism was right there in front of them. It’s not only present in the former ride itself, but within the same park. Create a traditional dark ride style retelling of this animated story. Use the villain to create a dramatic conflict which builds to the big drop. Simple, and they failed.
