Four hostages kidnapped by Hamas during the 7 October attacks at the Nova music festival have been rescued in a bold daylight raid deep in central Gaza.

Noa Argamani, 26, Almog Meir Jan, 22, Andrei Kozlov, 27, and Shlomi Ziv, 41, were freed in a "high-risk, complex mission" from two separate buildings in the Nuseirat area, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced.

The IDF confirmed the four are in good medical condition and have been transferred to the 'Sheba' Tel-HaShomer Medical Center, where they were seen embracing their families.

Dozens were killed and injured in the area where the operation took place, with images showing significant casualties.

Hamas's media office reported at least 210 people were killed on Saturday in Israeli attacks on the central Gaza camp from which the hostages were rescued.

Peter Cardwell speaks with Israeli government spokesperson David Mencer and former IDF deputy director of militart intelligence, Meir Elran.

When this man stated Hamas doesn't care about the people of Gaza, he is 100% right.
  • The numbers of casualties are inflated and if you take to your home a kidnapped person you are not a civilian!!!
  • @amyrobern9662
People need to understand that these rescued hostages, rescued yesterday, are today attending the funeral of the IDF hero who rescued them. That is humanity.

The people of Gaza have selected Hamas to rule them, sounds like most of the people have the same ideology against Israel as Hamas.
  • I don’t understand why the civilian casualties while Israel rescued the hostages are an issue. At the time the IDF would have landed in the house, there would most likely be informants who would have alerted Hamas. Do you think that 1-3 fighters would turn up to prevent the rescue? No! A barrage of fighters would get there fast. Which would explain why so many were killed. The civilians who held those hostages were being paid by Hamas for every person they keep. I’ve heard it to be $10,000 per head. If I am rescuing my people and you are holding them, whether you’re civilian or no, you’re dead! You would be complicit with Hamas and you are fair game! I DONT CARE how much were killed simply because if they had released the hostages the IDF would not have to go in which would cause casualties. These civilians knew the risk of them holding Israeli citizens and they knew they could die and most likely would die. They are supportive of Hamas yet they cry woe whenever they are killed among Hamas casualties. God be with Israel always to guide and protect them!🙏🏽❤️🇮🇱
  • Praying for the peace of Jerusalem 🇮🇱🙏💯❤️❤️🙏❤️

Well said David Mencer, Israel should always protect and rescue its citizens whether the world likes it or not, who cares?

If you are holding HOSTAGES in your home, you are NOT a civilian..
  • The most ridiculous and stupid thing I have ever heard in my life is informing those who kidnapped and hold people hostages before coming to rescue them
  • HAMMAS AND HAMMAS ALONE IS TO BLAME FOR ALL THE DEATHS, Winifred Thompson. Northern Ireland.
  • @nolameiring5155
Why can Hamas always give an exact amount of civilians killed straight away???? Give me a break.
  • @Nassla
EU minister Josep Borell has made a remark about the rescue an made me an anti EU person. So wile Josep Borell is blaming Israel for the death of civilian but the blood is on Hamas hands!
  • @elmerrosero8485
These civilians who died during the operation were there close to the place where the hostages were kept. They are part of the plan of the Hamas to keep the hostages.
  • I heard a Gazan say that they value death, the way we value life. I believe him.
  • Sadness and sorrow for the brave IDF soldier who lost his life in such a courageous mission. Condolences and respect for his family and loved ones 😪 Tears of joy for all rescued hostages especially Noa being reunited with her mum at such a difficult time. Freedom for all the hostages Condemnations to all those critical of Israel and its right to defend its tiny little mighty country 🆓🇮🇱✡️🇮🇱💙🇬🇧✡️💙🆓
  • No Jew lived in Gaza since 2005. Gaza could build schools and universities with all the billions of donations. But they chose to build tunnels and rockets. They chose war, they got war. Simple as that.
  • @Cherish1056
It seems the media has absolutely no morals or ethics. Imagine being angry that hostages were rescued? Where is the concern for the baby kidnapped? Where is the concern for the girls beaten and s assaulted?
  • The IDF must realise that they are the only people in this whole world that all good humans can trust. God bless you.
  • @daledevernon56
The reality is that the so-called innocent Palestinian people and Hamas are one in the same.
