I love vocal chameleons so much, especially when they dabble in music that I can now recognize. . . such as Metallica's "Master of Puppets"! Anthony Vincent, another YouTuber that focuses on covering amazing music with his impressive vocal instrument, has me in stitches throughout the entirety of this recreation!

Join professional opera singer Elizabeth Zharoff, as she listens to Anthony Vincent performing Metallica's "Master of Puppets" for the first time.

  • This was really cool, thanks so much for the analysis! Love your channel ❤
  • I hope Anthony sees this and finds it encouraging. He's pretty amazing and I'm astonished by how much work he puts into productions like this.
  • Anthony Vincent is a fantastic musician and probably the best Vocal Chameleon I've heard to date.
  • the amount of work Anthony put into his video is mind blowing. dude is so damn talented its crazy
  • @Scoobay
I have been hoping to see Anthony covered here since I first found this channel. He’s so good.
  • @myownalias
I have been subscribed to Anthony Vincent for years, found him when his channel was called ten second songs. He is massively talented and has kinda evolved over the years from 20+ styles videos into more single style videos, mixing songs with different artist styles, such as Unholy in the style of Ghost, and some awesome collaborations with other YouTubers.
  • @metalgod542
I was so SHOCKED to see Dir En Grey as one of the styles. Anthony really got creative with that one. Also, Elizabeth you're killing me, how do you not know Blue Oyster Cult? I'm just playing, but really you probably do know a couple of their songs. Pretty sure everyone knows "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" or "Burnin' For You".

A few points of interest: 21:43 - Gunship (Dark All Day) - The original sax player from Gunship's "Dark All Day" (Tim Capello) reprises his role from the film The Lost Boys (1987) in the official music video (which is great). Sadly, sax isn't usually part of Gunship's style. Tim featured in only that one song as far as I know. 21:57 - DOOM Soundtrack Music - The music from the original 1993 game featured riffs from many popular heavy metal bands of the time, including Metallica. For the 2016 game, Mick Gordon sought to modernize many of the original game's songs for the newer game. So there's an interesting multiple feedback loop thing going on. Metallica (this particular song, Master of Puppets), was reinterpreted in 1993... then that was modernized for 2016. And now reimagined for this video. Metallica to the power of three, I guess you could say. FOUR if you include the original song (from 1986) the 1993 DOOM game copied from. 26:28 - Megadeth - Dave Mustaine WAS IN Metallica at one point. They had a falling out. 26:35 - Blue Oyster Cult (Don't Fear the Reaper) - Google "more cowbell". Hilarious if you're a fan of Christopher Walken.

I love, LOVE your reaction to the "opera" section, and how you pointed out the many different styles he could have chosen from. It was a very, "now hold on a minute, this is my turf" moment.
  • Dir En Grey is a Japanese Avant-Garde Metal band that have a veeery interesting music style. They play a lot with dissonance and unconventional harmonies which combined with the singer's really high falsettos and harsh vocals create a really creepy vibe, definitely worth a listen! I would recommend "Uroko" as it really showcases the singer's range, but there's a ton of other good listens like 'Ranunculus', 'Lotus' and 'Kukoku no Kyouon'.
  • @ledgekindred
I really really want to see the two of you do a collaboration where the two of you just talk about how he does his different voice styles!!!
  • @Netjak
Dir En Grey is such a surprise! Kyo's vocals are so unique. That would be such a cool analysis down the line!
  • @adamread1997
I’d recommend the the Dir En Grey performance of Macabre live @ Tabula Rasa. The vocalist Kyo is one of the most emotive stage presences I’ve ever witnessed. The sounds that come from his throat are truly out of this world!
  • @xxacidmv
I can't wait to watch the full release. Anthony Vincent is fantastic!
  • @StvKln
Love that no one's answering the question of Clown Core. :'D It's a band. A very... interesting duo. They have videos where they're performing in a porta-potty. It's weird but strangely great.
  • @kernelpickle
Clown Core is a band of two and it’s definitely a thing, which you should totally react to if you haven’t had the pleasure of having your mind warped by amazingly tight musicianship in such an abrasive package.
  • Dir en Grey is a Japanese band, and their vocalist Kyo has crazy versatile voice. I'll let real fans of the band recommend exact songs (I'm more of a Luna Sea and Kagrra fan when it comes to JRock, with a fair amount of Gackt and L'arc~en~Ciel), but I would very much like to see your reaction to Kyo.
  • @TwistedChi
Anthony doesn't always go for the perfect recreation of a Voice but he almost always nails the essence of the band/composer/style he imitates and thats what I love about him. Hearing his Type O Negative or Jamiroquai back when he started blew me away and I've been following since.
  • @scottw5253
Clown Core is a duo of EXTREMELY talented musicians. The drummer (doctorate of music btw) plays intricate off time beats, while SIMULTANEOUSLY playing a "bass line" on a keyboard. The other member is a phenomenal saxophonist
  • @r3ngokuking
You NEEEEEEED to look into Dir En Grey!!! I've seen them live 3 times and every time Kyo blows my mind! Dozing Green, Uroko, Red Soil, Machiavellism, Garbage, the list of incredible songs is literally everything they've ever done.
