Odysseus upright, starting to send data after spacecraft achieves moon landing

Published 2024-02-22
The first private American spacecraft landed on the moon on Thursday, after launching atop SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket from Kennedy Space Center. This marked the first U.S. lunar landing without astronauts in more than 50 years.

It’s funny how they never mentioned that this space mission would never have happened if it wasn’t for SpaceX launching!

how did back in1969 was there live video ..feed and now wait for pictures?

I heard they had built a pub on the moon. It's nice but there isn't a lot of atmosphere.

Are they flying a drone next to the space capsule? How did they matched video and audio with no delay in 1969 but in 2024 we gotta wait for images to down load?

People actually believe this crap. It baffles me! How do they send pictures 600k miles when I can't even get cell service from a cell tower thats 2 miles away from me?

In 1969 there was live video and commentary. 50 years later, they can't even attach a Gopro to that thing? It has all been lies.

How did they get the outside pictures of it landing seeing dust blow up, when there is nothing there to record it.

I would be really neat to see a lander like this touchdown at the 1969 Tranquility Base to see updated photos of the first landing site after all these years.
  • The distance to the moon has little or nothing to do with how long it takes to send data. There are other factors.

The video and pictures are amazing. I'm guessing.

All I've seen is that they detect a weak carrier wave, no data yet. (as of 2/22 11:30) Anyone have a link to more info?

What's the delay with the footage? 😭 I can't wait to see the third person landing view.

Two weeks ago I sent a craft to Uranus. It is on the surface of Uranus and Uranus is quite nice this time of year. Sorry, I can't send pictures butt I can assure you it's on Uranus.

Brings a tear to my eye. Gunga Din is still alive and finally came through! Sounds like it rebooted and ran self diagnostic test.
  • They probably do have live stream but have to edit it first in case of unsuspecting beings or things popping up into view
