A paver walkway is nice, but very expensive and time consuming. A plain slab of concrete is less expensive, but plain to look at. There are some neat molds that allow you to have the look of intricate pavers but poured from concrete. I've never used them until now, but how hard can it be? I'll let you know.

  • Greetings from Ukraine)) I watched your video and I can give practical advice on the improvement of this kind of paths)) Put geofabric under the gravel pillow, though I don’t know if you have it on sale or not, but you can replace it with dense polyethylene to ensure the removal of excess moisture , prevent the growth of weeds. And also, before using the molds, grease it with any kind of automotive oil, the edges of the tile will be perfectly smooth and concrete will not stick))) Success in work😎
  • The reason for the large gaps is because they used two molds where these molds are designed to use it once, let the cement dry, remove the mold and then place the same mold right up against the cured cement from the first mold.
  • I used the cheap, yellow bag concrete mix and waited only 10 minutes before picking up the mold, no problem, the ‘stones’ will keep their shape as you gently pull the mold out. No need to wait longer than that, really…. 😊

Great video. I used this exact paver pattern 10 years ago. Lasted all this time with many compliments along the way!

Thank you for your ideas and suggestions on using these. I bought a few for my backyard project, last year. .I'm planning on redoing my whole yard. You made it look incredibly easy!! 😍 thanks!!
  • You are excellent at sharing with us. You don’t over talk it all.

I agree about putting weed preventative like(landscape fabric down under the molds). I use very little landscape fabric but for hard to manage areas. Can then fill in gaps with something else, mulch, pebbles, etc. I want to do this project so thank you for your advice and encouragement. You have given me very useful ideas. Ahna Atlanta/Georgia

I'm getting ready to do this same thing. Thanks for the helpful tips!
  • Great tips, excellent demonstration and just all kinds of useful. Thanks mate, I am about to do this for the first time at my house and you have already headed off the first two mistakes I was going to make. Thanks and keep it up - have now subscribed.

Thanks so much for sharing! I tried a different cement on mine. It was still to wet the next day. I shattered it, and can use it for filling low spots from the pickup in wet weather. I will pick up the type you used tomorrow! By the way, it looks great to me!
  • Thank you for sharing your DIY, I will remodeling my moms house and this would be an amazing walk way around the house, keep you posted.

I like how you got all the organics out before putting the rock on.

It looks great. Nice job, nice presentation.
  • Hi, thanks for the video! Very helpful. Just wondering, I have these molds too but have not used them as yet. I notice that the sections do not allow for joining shapes within the one mold, have you found that any of the ‘stones’ have come away from each other? Essentially breaking the path?
