We review the new 2023 Genesis G80 EV, a car that started with a V8, V6, and Turbo V6. This generation continues the push toward electrification. For $80,000 this car is ideal as a lease. Sport Sedans are turning into SUVs, but Genesis keeps the Luxury Car alive. Others to consider are BMW 5 Series, Mercedes E Class, Lexus LS, and Audi A6.

I slammed this like button harder than a Nissan Altima hitting the curb at my local Arby's. The moment I saw that Starcraft theme song.
  • It is nice to see an ev that's not styled like some futuristic starship

I just love that it's an EV car and not another EV awkwardly proportioned CUV-car thing.

We've gotten so spoiled, 20 years ago, this car would have been near science fiction

Gotta love that Starcraft main title playing. Finishes the authentic Korean touch.

0:00 I literally said out loud "We got another G80 baby!" And then he starts the intro saying "You got that right!" That weirded me out 😂
  • I've owned a first gen G80, and now a new facelift G70. Both cars were fantastic, and I'll definitely be interested in returning to the brand come trade time if the G70 pans out in the long run. Nothing but impressed for the car for the money.

Had the opportunity to drive one for a couple days and it’s one of the must fun, smoothest ev’s ive ever driven. 1) You get 2 years free electrified America charging 2) Trunk space will be annoying 3) Suuuupeer torquey 4) Dead silent, like you can tell when its on 5) Still handles well and pretty low cog 6) It’s dead drop gorgeous and very lowkey

I love to see Genesis pushing the envelope. Im really happy they finally found a beautifully elegant design language. One of the greatest brands up there right now.

Such a great car... I definitely agree that a fully EV platform would have been nicer in terms of offering more interior space, but as is, it looks better inside and out than any BMW or Mercedes EV sedan right now. I can't wait for an electric G90.

None of the german cars have done so well with the driving experience in the EV segment. So Genesis G80 electrified, well done.

I HAVE OWNED 2 Genesis. My current is the 2018 G80 Ultimate. Loved both of them. My next will be an Electric Genesis when it is time for my next vehicle purchase.
  • @PookDaWook
Crazy how quiet the cabin comes across even through the video. Compelling lease offers for sure too.
  • This is good but the next generation G80, EV from the ground up, will be something to behold.

I can't wait for the 1mil milestone. My first video was the review of the terminator cobra. Some of the best content on YT is right here. 😎

This car joins the pantheon of electrics providing the perfect excuse, as power black-outs become all the rage, to avoid attending business meetings, family get togethers, as well as a myriad of other questionable, time-vampiric activities which invade my oh so important "me time".

Pound-for-pound (no pun intended) the Genesis brand is kicking some serious keester. Good for them!
  • Please add a little segment where you drive all your cars on the highway and express some thoughts on highway driving performance - ride comfort, NVH, stereo quality, thoughts on trip comfort etc.
