That 1996 damage at 2:22 is probably a reference to the release date of the first Metal Slug game (April 19, 1996).

Steam page had nearly 2 years straight of radio silence. Seeing this video felt like I stumbled on an animal i thought was extinct

I never noticed originally but the entire metal slug series has some of the craziest pixel art of any game series.

The dodge system is basically to make the game "run and gun" like the main games

How long i have waited for this game. Every now and then i remembered "man by now metal slug tactics must surely be out" just to find it still not released, with not even a new trailer to be seen

this is fun - I played it for a few runs. the main issue is when you are pushing tab to switch characters, the abilities dont change sometimes. its a bug that fixes itself when you go to title screen but its annoying
