  • After my brother died in Vietnam, I could not listen to the Unknown Soldier For at least 10 years. Because taps is the last thing you hear at a military funeral. I was 11 when my brother died.

Wow...that man was SO beautiful ❤️ And he was one of the best writers of the last century. By far.
  • By the time I finally got to see The Doors, Jim was barely able to stand let alone sing. He was barely recognizable. I was devastated. As a young teenager I had a poster of Jim on my ceiling. My first album purchase was The Doors…such a deep incredibly talented writer and singer gone way too soon…

I've been there... almost died from alcohol poisoning ... it can happen to anyone at any age. The human body can take a beating but not forever.

My dad died of alcohol poisoning in 1968 at the age of 52. I was only 11 years old. I've always felt that Jim Morrison had the best male musical voice of the Rock era.
  • People can be so admired & indulged, that they truly become their own idol. Add fame & money….. bad recipe.
  • So many brilliant young artists, musicians and actors just self destruct in their search for meaning, creativity and inspiration. It’s really tragic.
  • I mean if my friend was literally collapsing in front of me I would call an ambulance 😭 so sad x
  • My dad brought me up on the Doors and I did the same with my adult son and now I'm showing my toddler. Jim willl live on forever.

Ben Fong-Torres is an absolute legend! Finally, identifying Morrison as he truly was ... A POET. RIP lizard king

My brother introduced me to the doors when I was 13 now 55 I loved the music but most of all the lyrics was absolutely fantastic, although he did have problems no one can take that away from him . I would say a poet first then a singer wot a man lost to soon x
  • The 12 steps doesn't work if you weren't ready and believe into. No one can't push you except yourself.
  • Jim was a Robert Mitchum fan. You can hear the influence in his singing voice.

I'm sorry but who DOESN'T call an ambulance when someone you love is throwing up blood...
  • He was one of the deepest men alive, other then prince but in a different way. Adrianne Curry went to his grave, she said it was spiritual. I believe that. I am from New Haven. We will never forget. He had to sing and perform backwards. He was shy and deep. Destined to his resting place. RIP Jim. You made your Mark.
  • It really makes me sad when kids don’t want anything to do with their parents as a parent myself I know how that hurts words cannot explain it
