Dr. Tony Evans is the founder and senior pastor of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, founder and president of The Urban Alternative and author of over 100 books, booklets and Bible studies. The first African American to earn a doctorate of theology from Dallas Theological Seminary, he has been named one of the 12 Most Effective Preachers in the English-Speaking World by Baylor University. Lord Jesus, please forgive my rebellion and backsliding! I thought I could never come back to you because I sinned just too many times, and after you delivered me and started sanctification, I got deceived and thought I had to go back to the world, but I now know it wasn't true! I suffered greatly because of it, but nothing at all compared to being separated from you for eternity! Please give me a broken and contrite spirit Lord Jesus, and fill me again with the precious Holy Spirit, that I can use whatever you've given me for your Glory! I want to be found working in your vineyard, and to bear fruit that remains. I ask you this in Jesus's Mighty Name, AMEN!

I remember when my mom used to talk about the Lord’s return I would get so upset because I knew I was walking in sin and I didn’t want to face the fact that I was living contrary to the will of God. Now I talk about the Lord’s return even more than my mom does probably, because I am so excited about it, and primarily because I am no longer trying to live against the will of God so my having to face my disobedience to God is no longer an issue. It doesn’t mean I’m infallible, I just seek to do the will of my Father in Heaven now, rather than the will of the flesh. Excellent sermon Dr. Evans!

Used to be a staunch atheist! Thank God for people like Tony! I am now a Jesus follower! Still don’t know what church to belong too! Any help out there?
