Firstly, Matt, I love that beard on you. Really suits. Secondly, it's great to see Dr Ray once more, a real treat.

Matthew is an atheist and yet he loves his family more unconditionally than his family loves him in spite of the idea that they’re serving an unconditionally loving god

On the last caller. 2 atheists sitting and speaking with someone who is genuinely concerned about the health of their father. He's a minister. The stereotype would be that they would focus all on religion and how his deconversion would be whats best. Instead, these two guys listen, offer advice, show patience, and show a genuine care for the caller and her father, despite their religious differences. Absolutely tears apart all of the religious caricatures of atheists. Well done gentlemen! What a beautiful showing of the kindness that flows behind their morals and actions! Loved it!

They told me "fake it till you make it" in AA, and let me tell you, I did not make it. At least not with a God concept.

I love the way atheist shows force Christians (and adherents of other specific religions) to generalise by declaring themselves as theists, and in doing so, to acknowledge that their particular beliefs, dogmas, and tenets are not absolute or unique, but simply one version of many candidate versions of potential truth. Implicit in this, the elephant in the room, is the unspoken reality that they cannot all be right, but they could all be wrong.

Hey Dr. Darrell, have you ever thought about doing a speaking tour kinda thing? I would love to hear you talk in person!

William has an impressive ability to look at the bright side. How many people would look at that find of an appointment by their deceased loved as a positive thing. Most would use it as another thing to cry and mourn about, "if only they had gone, they could have gotten the help they needed to change their lifestyle in order to live a longer healthier life." Instead he recognized the method he used as an effective way to maybe share and help others get to those who need help before it is too late. Bravo, William, your attitude on this singular point, at least, is honorable.

I'm one of those folk who have an instant recoil (terror?!) seeing a snake, but seeing Matt handle this one and talk so confidently is somehow calming & reassuring - don't ask me why!
