Mephiston' grand entrance. My favorite scene from Angels of Death. No edit. Just straight clip from show. I love the setting, the score, dialogue. Great work from the team in bringing this character to life. Hopefully we get more of these kind of scenes in future animations.

Loved how unnerving mephiston feels it’s very true to the books.

Mephiston looks very terrifying here; and his voice is also nightmare-ish. The way he speaks in third person is perhaps hinting that there is more to him than meets the eye, and the Black Rage and Red Thirst are very real things that each Blood Angel faces in their eternal war.

Imagine my surprise when not only did m'fing MEPHISTON showed up on screen, but they actually got his "ominous presence" right. Gives me hope for maybe....Astaroth?

Calistarius was his name before he succumbed to the black rage. It’s interesting to see him refer to his past self in third person, as if that is not who he is now. I love them playing to the idea that he never truly survived the rage, instead maybe he whispered to darker beings to regain his strength.

In 1:10, when Mephiston said the line “Do you think it saved Calistarius?”, there is a second voice behind his, very disturbing indeed

"1:10, do you think it saved calistarius", as he says that you can hear another dark demonic voice in the background, nice touch there hinting to the fact that Mephiston has the Bad/Shadow Angel Side of Sanguinius inside him.

Despite Mephiston's dark and menacing presence, there is a great deal of wisdom in his words. The black rage and red thirst rests in all of the sons of the blood/angel. There is only so much that the sons of sanguinius can do before the darkness comes. And even if they found a solution to the black rage and red thirst, they would become like Mephiston...shadows of their former selves. That is something Sanguinius never wanted for his sons. Yet Mephiston knows this dark truth all too well...

Mephiston, always gives me this feeling, like I can easily forget how he is a "good guy" His character is so unnerving and I'm always waiting for him to just completely lose himself, or take on something that puts him outside the possibility of ever getting back to sanity, The travels he made in The Devistation of Baal, I was SURE he wasn't going to make it back. Examples like that. He can push the envelope further than most. His character is hugely entertaining. When Xenos see his mind and how absolutely capable he is as a psyker, absolute powerhouse to garner the attention and regard of the greatest minds in all of the Lore.
