Welcome to my first time watching as we react to Jurassic Park III (2001). We are heading back to Isla Sorna baby! We were thrilled to check out the rest of the saga. Can't get enough of this world of dinosaurs.

In "Jurassic Park III," a desperate couple convinces Dr. Grant to help them find their lost son on the infamous dinosaur island. Little do they know, the island is more treacherous than ever.

Starting the film with an epic T-Rex vs Spinosaurus fight was not what we were expecting! This film was filled with heart-pounding dinosaur encounters, spectacular special effects, and edge-of-your-seat moments that make this movie a thrilling ride. The script unfortunately wasn't at the level we would've hoped for but Jurassic Park III delivers on the fun.

We hope that you enjoy our reactions, commentary and review as we discuss the film's memorable sequences like meeting the terrifying Spinosaurus, the return of the Velociraptors, and the horror-like pterodactyl encounter.

I still think that the scene by the fence, with the telephone playing, is the most frightening and atmospheric in all 6 films.
  • Joe Johnston directed this movie. The same man direct Jumanji & Captain America The First Avenger.

That "good intentions" line has always stuck with me ever since i first saw this movie lol

My biggest issue with this movie was how everything got wrapped up so quickly at the end, it felt like they realised they only had 5 mins left of the runtime and had to close all the storylines. They return the eggs, walk 6 foot and there's the navy coming to save them, oh and this guy is still alive.

I was about the same age as Eric when this movie came out so it really gave me that "what if I were there" day dream. big love for this movie.
  • If you are curious about how Eric survived the time he was on Isla Sorna, there is a book about it called Jurassic Park Adventures Survival
  • Rest In Peace Michael Jeter 1952-2003 Stan Winston 1946-2008 Michael Crichton 1942-2008 Roger Ebert 1942-2013 Julio Oscar Mechoso 1955-2017 and Robert Dalva 1942-2023, Michael Jeter played Mr Noodle's brother Mister Noodle on Sesame Street from 2000 to 2003, on March 30 2003, Jeter was found dead by his partner at his home in Hollywood Hills California, he was 50 years old, Jeter died from complications after an epileptic seizure
  • Fun Fact: that nightmare Dr Grant has about the Velociraptor calling him Alan is actually foreshadowed by the earlier scene of him trying to get Ellie’s pet bird to say his name just before they had their conversation about raptor intelligence and vocalisation.
  • Fun Facts: Spinosaurus was chosen as the main antagonist because the studio didn’t want to reuse T-Rex. At the time though the only bones of Spinosaurus that were ever discovered were of its top jaw and it’s back sail, and they were destroyed during WW2 when the Germans bombed the Cairo museum where they were housed. So they had to guess what it looked like based on its possible relatives like Baryonyx. However a decade later it was discovered it was not only LARGER and scarier looking than they thought but it moved around more like a crocodile that could also walk on 2 legs. Look up the real Spinosaurus on YouTube. Before this movie came out Raptors were discovered to have actually been covered not in scales but in feathers, just like birds. But the studio didn’t want to cover their Raptors in feathers so they gave the males this weird little Mohawk. But they were so wrong because you can make birds scary, look up the Cassowary, it’s intimidating and it looks like an actual living dinosaur.

A Youtuber called Klayton Fioriti, who focuses on this franchise, made a video talking about why the Spino was so relentless. If I remember correctly, there was a version of the script in which the mercenaries encountered and were attacked by baby Spinosaurs. They killed the babies, which enraged the parent(s) into attacking them. I believe they also killed one of the adults leaving this last one as the big baddie. Plus it's believed that they injured the Spino with the plane propellers in the failed takeoff scene. That's why there was blood on the windshield in that scene.

A few weeks after the movie came out I had the ringtone from the movie on my phone. I was in public and then my phone went off. Some people turned their heads, nodding and smiling. From that you could tell who had been to the theaters 😄

22:34 one of my favorite lines in the movie "this is how you make dinosaurs?" "No, this is how you play God" 31:30 another great line "what if they catch us with them?" "What if they catch us without them?" 33:00 "oh my God" "what is it?" "It's a birdcage" "for what?"
  • Nice! I saw this in the theater with my parents and we loved it! This was the final chapter in the JURASSIC PARK series, until 2015, JURASSIC WORLD was released. This film has some problems behind the scenes as Joe Johnston, director of the movie, hated the original script, calling it "a bad episode of FRIENDS" as it was going to involve teenagers getting stranded on Isla Sorna following a plane crash. They encounter a strange hermit living in a treehouse, who turns out to be Alan Grant, having snuck onto the island to study the dinosaurs in their natural habitat. The T.Rex animatronic had its head torn off by the Spinosaurus during a fight scene that was filmed but cut from the movie, yet parts can be seen in the trailer. Filming had begun before a script was even finished. It took 9 months to film the movie, which gave the VFX artists plenty of time to create the CGI dinosaurs. The film was a box office success making, $369 million dollars against a $90 million dollar budget. It received mostly negative reviews from critics, yet Roger Ebert called it the best in the series.
  • Fun Fact: The actor who plays the son of the Kirby's was in Barney's Great Adventure The Movie from 1998.
  • Random Fun fact: The rifle used at the beginning is an M82A2 Barrett, which has to be fired from over the shoulder, only 10 were ever built making them extremely rare, and they were made to shoot down helicopters. Love yalls reactions👍👍
  • So the scenes inside the aviary and the river chase from the Spinosaurus (originally T-Rex) are actually scenes from the original Jurassic Park book that had to be cut from the final movie for runtime and budget reasons. And honestly they were the best scenes of the movie.
  • @7kortos7
23:00 your two facial expressions are priceless when the raptors eyes dilate XD
  • @king.skully
All the Jurassic Franchise, whether if it's good or bad, I don't care. Best movie in my opinion.
