Hobby is getting very expensive ,at least £30 for a kit this size , so I looked on " King Kit" site ( pre owned.) and found this for £15 . The company is ZHENGDUFU , a new one on me ! Fairly simple , not much detail , soft-ish engraved panel lines .No painting instructions but 11 photos of finished model printed on the back of the box . strange, lumpy decals which took 10 minutes to float off and are still shiny under the varnish ! Fit is generally good , no putty needed .
I drilled out the jet intakes then realised that the wings were incorrect size and shape , should be tapered at the trailing edge and about 2cm too long overall . ( Maybe based on prototype aircraft .)
I like the Taiwanese assymetrical camo of 3 colour grey , but converted the curved shapes into square "crossword" shapes using long strips of 1/4 inch Tamiya Tape cut into squares . I enclose some shots taken with my Mitsubishi F-2 B Zero Viper , they could be cousins ?? Underside is like early F-18 , intakes etc and shape of LEX . ( General Dynamics contributed to the design when F-16 and Tigershark were refused export to Taiwan , politics eh ? ) I think they did an excellent job , on reflection I think she is a pretty aircraft , which won't be in too many collections !

  • wonderful! It's amazing that you chose this rare aircraft. I didn't know this kit existed. I bought the AFVCLUB kit, but I wish they would release it in 1/72 as well.

I'm really loving your camo patterns, especially the more recent ones. The splinter and digital patterns on these are two separate versions of awesome!
  • Very interesting subject, you don't see that aircraft that often! Looks great next to your Japanese F-16!

The crossword camouflage painting is very tasteful! Japan's Mitsubishi F-2 B is wonderful!
