Thank you Shawn for the update. I was so excited to see it this morning. I hope you have been enjoying your time away with family and friends. Enjoy the rest of your vacay in New York. Sending much love and appreciation for all you do. Thanks also to Amanda Jo for her fabulous help. ❤️

My cat loves your videos. The hand pointer over Google Maps seems to hypnotizes him when it slowly floats about.

When I was having breakfast this morning I was just thinking I was missing your Iceland updates, then opened up the YouTube app and here you are! Thanks for taking the time to do the update.
  • Thank goodness you’re back! The volcano just isn’t the same without you. Hope you had a good time in CR and have fun in NY.
  • Congratulations on 100,000+ subscribers! It's well deserved and you really deserve 10× more than that! 😃
  • You have been missed! Glad you are on vacation though, beautiful Prague! Thanks for the briefing.
  • Thank you Shawn for taking the time on your holiday to give us a factual, and calm update. You Tubers in general tend to inflate the event and create "disaster" headlines that also tend to use older images from the opening phase of this event or some of the earlier ones. I've been checking in regularly on the web cams and quit looking at pretty well all other Icelandic volcano videos unless they are by one of the Icelandic geologists. It's so good to have a steady, reliable source. By the way i am slowly working my way through your road cut geology videos, keep them coming.

Hey! Geologist from Prague here. Hope you enjoyed your stay here and seen some cool geology, since we have a lot of it in a small area.
  • @robmez

It’s very interesting that they’re blasting a channel to guide future lava flows. While you’ve been gone, I saw a drone video showing a heavy equipment operator moving earth, in a blizzard with horizontal snow coming from the south or SE, and on the other side (NNW?) of the berm was the giant steaming lava lobe. Truly fire and ice, with a brave person continuing to work nonstop in between. Thanks for the update! Hope you can avoid travel hassles from the wild weather in the USA, Minnesota has had a ton of snow.

Thanks Shawn! Great update. Enjoy the rest of your well deserved vacation.
  • I heard that they were mining scoria in that mine/quarry. I'm not sure how true that is, but it makes sense.

I'd always recommend to take a mouse with you. There are also applications to remotely control your pc, so you might be able to use something like that in the future to get access to your normal setup. Though, for a quick update during your vacation it's not necessary to do that at all. I just wanted to make you aware of the possibility, but it's completely up to you to decide what to do with this information :-)
  • Hi Shawn; I really enjoy your commentary. Using Explosives and excavating a path for the lava goes along with my old philosophy of “if you don’t give it a place to go, it will go where you don’t want it to”!
  • @diane6019
It’s was nice to get your update. Thanks for taking the time. You always cover all the pertinent information. Have missed your reports. Enjoy the rest of your trip and look forward to your next update.

I said hello from "snowless MN" last week. After our weekend snow eruption, I can now say howdy from under 9+ inches of the white stuff. Spring time in Northern Minnesota 🥴. Safe trip home Shawn!

I was missing your touch and comments in the last week, thank you filling the gap(s)
