I spent one month living on a remote island at the end of Japan.

After living in Osaka for 4 months, K (my husband) and I decided to move to the remote Goto Islands, an archipelago of tiny islands off the Western coast of Japan.
We did not know what we signed up for.
But I hope you enjoy watching us try to adapt to traditional island life, and let us know in the comments if you're from or have lived in rural Japan and what your favourite thing about rural life is!

Join me on Instagram @itssunnyinjapan for day to day stories on our life on the Goto Islands

So happy to have stumbled apon your channel Sunny, what a precious opportunity to live on this gorgeous island...absolutely stunning, so serene and lovely genuine warm residents :)
  • This vlog is like... an Ōtoro Tekkadon bowl, a feast of the highest quality tuna sashimi, visually spectacular and densely packed with top content... woah, spread it out a little, Sunny... 😄 Thank you 🙇‍♂ (I need to rest my eyes now...)

Wow! Goto is my hometown where I was born and left there at 18 years old. Then, I used to live in NewZealand, Australia and EU.

Goto looks so lovely, with the juxtoposition of old and new, but in a much more blended fashion than seeing the townhouses in Kyoto. I think even if I were to live there, I would never get bored of the scenery and atmosphere. Thank you so much for taking the trip and sharing it with us.

It's a very very beautiful image. The quietness of a remote island is comforting. Ideal.

Предиван видео ! Професионално урађен! Браво!
  • Very interesting video. Not only introducing our Japanese traditional lifestyle, but also you might be one of the first Youtubers or Influencers from overseas, who has been to Goto islands. I mean even many of we Japanese also never been to. Of course lots of Japanese know the name of Goto. By the way I used to live in Naha, Okinawa back in the early 90's and been to some pretty small islands.

  • What a magical place! To say I'm envious would be an understatement. The best part is having the time to immerse in the location and culture. I'd love to spend a few months there. Great video!
