I have a new video on my channel talking about Europapa! I talk more about it than I do in this video so it would be great if you could watch!

I am a 65 dutch guy, the first time I didn't like it. But then it became a huge hit in Holland. Then I saw the video.... and it took me by surprise. Started to grin, wanted to shout and dance.... whoaaa.....

he dedicated this song to his father who died when he was 12 years old. his dad taught him that the world has no true boundaries and his mother died when he was 13. JOOST KLEIN DROOM GROOT🩷

I don’t care one bit about Eurovision. But i do care about Joost Klein. He is a true artist, goosebumps everytime!
  • I didn't know him, even as I am Dutch. Totally not into gardcore but I LOVE LOVE LOVE this song!❤ It is so layered and tells such a beautiful story! It makes so happy, but tells you there can't be happiness if you don't know know sadness. There are no borders, in your mind you can go everywhere. His surname 'Klein' means 'small, but he says: Joost Small dream big! Joost Klein Droom groot ❤❤❤❤❤

I just heard it today for the first time. I didn't hear Joost Klein's music before. I absolutely love it. It has humour, love and a good beat. I think it will do well.

5 million 2 days later btw Pa-Pa is dutch for dad, so the song has a double meaning,... I think it's very catchy, easily to remember its sticks in your head
  • @johannesnicolaas
His father died of cancer but before that he gave many lessons to refugees. And he said often to his son: there are NO bounderies... as a kind of human wisdom he wanted to pass on to him.

It's well put together, it's an emotional rollercoaster, I'm also so curious to see what it will look like on stage.

The brief story of Europapa by Joost Klein: His parents died when he was a kid. His father to cancer at the age of 12, and his mother to a cardiac arrest at the age of 13. So he was orphaned at age 13 and brought up by his brother and sister. Joost has written Europapa as a letter to his father. His father told him the world has no borders. Borders are made up by humans and so you can create your own world, and that’s what Joost is doing every day from that day on. After the death of his parents, he started searching for the meaning of life and relief of his pain by traveling, but never actually found it there. He gave people money (psychologists) to help him, but that did not work. Until he realized that he still had time and options to realize his dreams. After all, the world has no borders right? And so he did. The burning house in the end represents losing but also moving on, in a positive way. Burning your bridges: no longer controlled by pain + sadness, but focused on your dreams. Without borders. Joost always said to his parents that one day he would go to Eurovision and that day is here and now. 12 points to The Netherlands!

I liked this more than I thought I would - not as heavy as I anticipated. I can see it doing well with the public but a lot less well with the juries but it'll stand out, that's for sure!
  • @barryn8355
I can't stop playing it and I think you'll love it soon, lets see :D.. Thanks for your reaction!
  • @carolasmit2387
