I personally love Rosenrot. I think the album has a shit ton of bangers. They don’t have a bad album imo
  • I personally love A Sense of Purpose. It was the first album I heard from In Flames, and holds a special place in my heart. It did get me to go back in their discography, and Whoracle is my personal pick for the best in their discography, but A Sense of Purpose is up there for me as well.

Damn, my heart sank when you put Magma on the list... I get why so many didn't like how much more simplistic it was compared to their previous stuff. But damn songs like Silvera, Stranded, The Cell, Pray and Only Pain are absolute bangers to me.
  • As a person who has Deftones' S/T as their favorite Deftones album, this stung lmao
  • The most recent example that comes to mind for me personally is Lorna Shore's Pain Remains. I really wanted to love that album, especially since the record was going to feature longer pieces including a 3-parter at the end, but it still frustrates me that Lorna Shore have yet to live up to their high amounts of potential IMO due to very repetitive elements and songwriting combined with ridiculously fatiguing production.

Tbh it’s interesting but I agree that Deftones self titled was very disappointing to me initially, but it’s grown on me exponentially & I think its brilliant now. Probably would say the same for NIN’s With Teeth
  • @nwebster2012
Having Deftones self titled on here is a travesty. That album is amazing. Top 4 for them. Dark, experimental, and a sense of rawness to a lot of the tracks. Lucky You does stick out, but all the other ones are great. All the homies love this one.

😮 I can’t believe you mentioned Lamb of God’s Sacrament album it’s an absolute banger of an album it didn’t disappoint in the slightest you should of put Resolution on the list instead of Sacrament
  • @_HotDawg
Nine Inch Nails makes sense. since Fred Durst ended Trent Reznor's career by dissing him on Hot Dog
  • A sense of purpose is such a guilty pleasure for me. I think objectively it's got huge issues but for some reason the whole album hits. Sleepless again and disconnected have infectious choruses
  • @DavidLoveless
That Deftones s/t album is one of my favorites by them. I’ll admit it took a while for me to get into it but I love more songs on that album than I dislike. Also, for this list, you could have easily included anything by Architects after ‘All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us’. 🤘🏽🤘🏽
  • I hate ads 😂😂 On the NIN one at the beginning, it just went like “I popped it in the stereo and was left with this… If you’re having problems with your bladder…”
  • Total agreement with Slipknot! Went from Heavy, Dark & Heavy, to.... radio.
  • I really don’t get the hate for Deftones s/t. It’s not as good as their first three, but it’s got a lot of their best songs. C’mon, Hexagram? Needles and Pins? When Girls Telephone Boys? Bloody Cape?
  • Personal ones: HammerFall - Infected Gojira - totally agree there Megadeth - Super Collider Abbath - Dread Reaver Behemoth - Agree there, too Dimmu Borgir - Abrahadabra Amon Amarth - The Great Heathen Army
  • @mercyfulnate
Opeth - Heritage is the first to come to mind. Changed their sound and have never gone back. They were (and still are) my favorite band and those first nine albums are untouchable to me, and Heritage was actually the first new release since I had become a big fan as a teenager, so I was beyond excited
  • I thought Magma was good but clearly different from the prior material and closer to hard rock for sure. It felt more personal as Joseph and Mario were dealing with the death of their mom which hit me differently since it came out after a good friend passed away due to alcohol abuse. I think it’s good, just very different from their progressive approach, which I also enjoy. Also, now that you mentioned Randy is imitating Phil…I can’t unhear it…you’re better than that Randy lol.

Did he really put Sacrament??? I mean this is REALLY a hot take. That's one of their best and it's generally accepted.
