Ten years ago I started building a fantasy world called Tumiun. I've since explored this world through art, writing, Dungeons & Dragons and now in the form of a series of short films called Tales of Tumiun, right here on my YouTube channel. This video tells you about how building this world has changed my life.

This is an incredible video. The way you present things showing little glimpses of the world is wonderfully captivating! I'm honored to be an inspiration and hope you make it big!
  • You telling me you had 900 subscribers when this video went live LAST MONTH and now you're at 23k? FUCKING FANTASTIC. Congrats to you man

“a picture says a thousand words and world-building paints a thousand pictures.” well said my friend, well said.
  • This is absolutely beautiful! I love the saying, “a picture says a thousand words and world-building paints a thousand pictures.” Also, the ending… magnificent! 😮

Wow this is so cool! I have been doing this as well as a small hobby a few hours a week and seeing how invested you are into your world is so inspiring. And this video is so peaceful and so well edited. Keep up the good work :)

My son is only 8, and videogames are starting to take over his interests, but ever since age 5 he has loved to draw and create stories. Maps were his favourite thing to draw, starting early in his drawings. He used to talk about wanting to be an author all the time, and he is so imaginative. I'm going to share this video with him. I hope he keeps up his own world building, it is such a creative gift. Thank you for sharing this part of yourself with us 🙂 cheers/skål 🥂

This is what youtube was made for, love and passion, sharing that with people
  • As a fantasy author who has been working on my world for 17 years, while writing, I loved this video. Worldbuilding can feel like a refuge when life feels stressful. It can show your thoughts and ideas, and reflect back things you didn't know about yourself. It is so interesting to write about different cultures and why they came to be.

This is the first video of yours I have ever watched. The genuine gratitude you show to your followers mid-way through made me weirdly emotional. I can tell that you deserve all of the success that is coming your way.

Absolutely insane you had 900 subs when this released. I hope it is encouraging to see how many people are newly excited by Tumiun, and not too overwhelming
  • I’m crying to a random video of a stranger, I instantly know I will start watching his videos, and I will keep doing that for a long time.
  • @gekebeer
Almost teared up at the end man... Thx for sharing your story and your world, you have inspired me to write and draw and explore my own creativity. Keep on doing what you're doing and i know you will inspire many more. Great work Rick!

I'm 46, a whole twenty years older than you, but you seem to have an older soul and to be a kindred spirit. I've never played D&D or any rpg's for that matter, but I am an avid LOTR fan, fantasy illustrator, and developer. You've struck an instant chord and I'm sharing your channel out with all of my friends, for it appears we need to build a fellowship for this new and exciting journey ahead of us.

I can't really explain this, but I feel so comfortable watching this video - like just being alone in the forest with an old friend you haven't seen in a long time, but still feel this deep connection to.
  • This kind of imagination is exactly what the world needs to grow and unite peacefully. I absolutely love how this took so much dedication and an unwavering truth. Congrats man!
  • @thebanditcoot
As a fellow world builder this is incredibly encouraging! I would love to see a video on how you build your maps!
  • The way you said that Tumiun became your reason to get up in the morning... God, I felt that. Last year I wrote the first book in my sci-fi YA series and I feel the same way. My world, my characters, they need me. You're such an inspiration! ⭐️

I honestly don’t think I have ever watched a more beautifully crafted video than this. Not only was the content sublime, but the way you filmed, recorded and edited this video was… wow. It was simply beautiful. You can truly tell you are an amazing, creative person. Thank you for sharing Tumiun and snippets of your life with us.
