Madras 1984 - Question #1 from Question & Answer Meeting #2

'Whatever work I have attempted has ended in failure. What is the cause of this state of affairs and what is the remedy? What is the origin, the beginning of desire?'

---

This channel is managed by the Krishnamurti Foundation Trust, UK, and by the Krishnamurti Foundation of America.

The role of the foundations was described by Krishnamurti when he said, 'The foundations will see to it that these teachings are kept whole, are not distorted, are not made corrupt. They will not give rise to any sectarian spirit in their activities... nor create any kind of place of worship around the teachings or the person.'

We maintain extensive archives of Krishnamurti's original works and all four Krishnamurti foundations are actively engaged in the publication of material in various forms.

Our videos contain thousands of subtitles in more than 25 languages, translated by volunteers from all over the world. If you would like to help us with translating subtitles, please contact us at [email protected]

“ you have ashes on your head and you go to temples and stuff, and you haven’t even asked yourself these questions” I like this direct sort of spiritual scolding.

I am in love with this man. To desire, to crave for success is to crave for being loved. It is the compelling need to be convinced of something of which we are not inwardly convinced. It is the fight for the conquest of a lost crown. It is the fight of our parent, of our brother, of our neighbour, of the foreigner, of our enemy. It is a cancer that unites us all. And yet this cancer that is a terminal disease affects us all. The very nature of this disease informs us of the very answer to this need. We are not alone. We are one. Beautiful, alive, mortal, ever-transforming, ever-dying, ever-living beings.

Towards the end of the talk he expresses so much pain for the stupidity with which we are living our lives, he is so frustrated as how have been living so ignorantly.. I feel his pain.

I seem to be the only one " Baffled by the fact that everything he says is so NOW...Yet..... this recording was nearly 40 years ago.... Fastforward to 2019.......this man is truly Nostradamical.........

Towards the end he was crying with pain and along with him I was too. I am happy that in today's time he is no more physically. He would have shattered by seeing the condition of this world today.

Love the ashes and the failures, that is very simple.
  • The way K. answers to questions is like a poem, like a composer developing a symphony, there´s a recurring theme, each time stronger and clearer, to finally unleash a powerful and brilliant ending.
