The fact that this Lord of the Rings mod - nay - essentially a full LOTR Total game in its own right, has come this far, looks this good, and appears so deep - well, it does bring a tear to a man's eye. An immense amount of effort and passion has gone into making this mod be where it is today, and it seems we're nowhere near the finish line. Who knew Total War Attila had more secrets up its sleeve?

I've spent hundreds of hours playing Third Age Total War mod for Medieval 2 Total War. Can't wait to dig into this also.

That amount of work that goes into these mods is absolutely insane. Props to everyone who has worked on the mod previously, presently and in the future. I think one of the most exciting things for this mod over Third Age or DaC isn't really the graphics, but the relaxing of the hard-coded faction limit. Imagine going around and fighting or playing as minor factions that arent just "rebels" littering the map. I love me some smaller starts and maps that actually feel populated with a bunch of factions, clans, and kingdoms.

More build spaces, and being encouraged to play 'tall' with fewer settlements has another less obvious benefit - seiges are going to be less common but WAY bigger and more important.

I remember back in 2016 when I first saw this mod. Since this Day I dreamed about a campaign and now we are that close. This team is by far the best the total war community every had!

I just spent about 100h in the last months playing divide and conquer for medieval 2 and can't wait to try out this mod. It looks absolutely incredible. Thanks to all the modders who put so much free time into this. You truely keep the total war community alive in these difficult times. CA really should thank you for that!

The Dawnless Days mod is far more exciting to me than the next mainline Total War game from CA. This is what it looks like when developers are driven by passion over profit.
